I'm sorta with you here. I haven't used mine in ages cuz of this. I even pulled it out today to try it and it was awful no matter what I did. I LOVED it at first and it wasn't doing this, but now it does constantly. I have a full cart, I double check everything, and I can't get a good flavorful vape for nothing. I sorta have put this away because of this. Thought I'd try again today, and same stuff. Any ideas from anyone???

^ I am soooo glad I am not the only one. I love the concept, just it seems a bit powerful for me. At first I liked it but I had it plugged into an old laptop cooling thing with USB ports. Maybe it wasn't getting as much power. Then I tried a cheap thing I got from Walmart but I frequently got juice in my mouth. I wonder if there is one that would get it to around 4 but not all the way to 5?

Does that even make any sense????

I'm using a power pack with it and what I don't understand why is at first it was so good and I could taste the flavor and I love it, but ever since, it's just plain harsh and no flavor. I've tried everything I can. I have made sure it's fresh cart and juice is full and I've tried the 901 and 510 and just harsh taste and not good. What could we be doing wrong???

Have you tried dripping to take the cart and filler out of the equation?

Yeah Never. Dripping is even worse. It is just harsh and NOT good. I am confused! Using the cart seems to help a little, but it is still harsh. I can put the same cart on a 901 battery and it is fine. I have tried reducing the nic by cutting it with vg and with pg. Same thing, just harsh vape. I wonder if it could be getting too hot? I have tried just pushing the button for a sec and that doesn't make much difference, just less vape.

No I'm thinking that it's just the 901's and 510s don't like the higher voltage as much and we should be using 801s on the PT, but I don't want to get into more atty stocking and buying. So hopefully, I'll just like my Protege and use them on that and I won't need to use a PT anyhow. I might just sell it. I prefer the 3.7 v anyhow.

How often are you refilling? Here's what I recommend:

1. Let the unit rest when the atomizer tube gets any warmer than luke warm to the touch.
2. When breaking in a brand new atomizer, drip 5-6 drops on the atomizer, then 4-5 after every 4 puffs or so. As soon as you notice a change in flavor, redrip.
3. Blow out atomizers regularly, and allow them to drain over night.
4. Be sure not to screw the atomizers onto the unit too tightly, as this will push in the contact points at the bottom of the atomizer, and cause it to short out your entire unit.
5. Do not depress the button for more then 2-3 seconds on the 901 or 510 atomizer, or 4-5 seconds on the 801. You can continue to draw in after releasing the button, but holding it down for any longer than that could result in popping the atomizer.

ANOTHER thing.
sometimes your tip is loose or allows air to pass on the sides through to your mouth.

As a result the user get's less vapor.
As a result of less vapor the user presses more than 2-3 seconds on the button.
As a result of this the atty get's too hot and you will get a harsh taste.

Take small mouth puffs as described by Fliznanu...
Rotate your atty when too warm.

Warm is ok ...since they get warm instantly...but don't let it get hot.
