Unfortunately not in my case. Cinnamon bun, blackberry or cheescake at work. I think it's a person who is a breast cancer survivor and ex-smoker. The worst! And she literally LIVES on Diet Coke, fatty foods (has gout) and wine. Whattaryagonnado.
That is too bad.
In my workplace, the two smells that drive people nuts are tobacco and microwave popcorn. The first, people will frown. The second and people will wander from cubicle to cubicle looking to scrounge some eats...
I always vape at work but, keep a low profile. The vast majority of people are quite cool with it, even the non smokers. I have been asked; now that you have quit smoking, when are you going to give up vaping? I usually respond with, if I'm not vaping then I'll probably be smoking again, what would you have me do? Then I explain to them that I loved smoking, I just didn't like what it was doing to me, if it wasn't for e-cigs I would certainly smoke till the day I die. Having said that, those are the oddballs out there and do not reflect the majority of people that I meet. There is a mechanic that I work with (a non smoker) who told me that he would not have a problem with someone coming to his house and vaping. He added that he has a few smoking friends that he was going to be sure to tell them about e-cigs because he thought that they were such a good idea. Another co-worker (non smoker) was so interested that he bought his mother a kit that I recommended for christmas, and she has been vaping ever since. I look at this way, most non smokers are part of the solution, they all know a smoker or two, and can help converting their friends and family to vaping. Granted, your always going to have your hard line "quit or die" zealots, but in the end they're the ones who are going to look silly. It's all about harm reduction, for everyone, including the zealots.

I have had some bad experiences while vaping in public, especially when I was using a mod. I have been told that it looks like I am smoking pot from a distance. That may just be because of the area I am in now. I live in the country. Not a lot of vapors in these parts. A lot of times when I go out for dinner or to a party I will bring sticks with me.
I've received all positive responses so far. I was recently on an Alaska Cruise with my entire family. My son and I started vaping about two months ago, We were both fairly heavy smokers and response by the family was positive. We both got a lot of questions about what "those things" were. He uses a Tesla and I have a Segelei ZMAX V3 Telescope. We also have an assortment of eGo batteries and some KR808-D batteries. People would ask how we liked them and if they were as satisfying as cigarettes. I ended up giving out URL's for a number of vendor websites to people to check out when they got home. We also got three smoking family members to try vaping. So far two of them have gotten their own PV's and one more is going to try it.
No one in public has asked me, a few funny looks at stop lights. I feel like my non smoker friends are more interested then smoker friends but I think that's because most of my smoker friends love smoking or are in denials about smoking. I think they don't want to admit that this could really work for them. I always get, well it looks expensive or I just don't think it would work for me. My friend who is a non smoker spend 30 minutes asking questions and seemed intrigued by the idea.

So I just ordered my first vaporizer, recently took up smoking again after a year and a half without. After a few weeks I decided that it was absolutely stupid to start killing myself all over again and decided I'd make the smart choice and go for the healthy alternative. I'm assuming that most people on here are ex-smokers and thus know what its like smoking in public these days, all the dirty looks and whatnot, not to mention the constant shaming by friends and family about how unhealthy/disgusting it is. I'm curious as to what, if any difference, people have found about being seen vaping. So share away! Also, first post!
Yep mainly curiosity but you get the occasional misguided soul who feels the need to publicly shame you for what is clearly a legal activity...

Mostly looks of curiosity. Of course some are scared and they don't want "second hand smoke" because they don't know what vaping is. Either way, I vape away
Technically, yes. Propylene Glycol is the same thing as pet-safe antifreeze. It's also used to deice aircraft (trust me on this, I was the deicer supervisor for 2 years at the USAF base I'm stationed at.) The difference is, there's an industrial grade PG and a food grade PG. Industrial grade is used in stuff like antifreeze and aircraft deicer/anti-ice fluid, and food grade is used in a whole mess of food found on store shelves. Since I worked so extensively with the stuff, I looked into it, and a toxic amount of PG would have to be taken intravenously. I mean, you'd almost have to replace your blood with this stuff for it to seriously pose a risk to your health. Food grade PG is even safer than industrial grade. I've gotten so many questions about it from family and friends that I've taken to telling the non-smokers that it's basically water vapor and food flavoring just to avoid this exact question.
I get asked so often about my Evic, I am thinking about handing out flyers with links to ECF and vendors. I work in the community for social services and most people I have contact with smoke cigarettes. When I explain an Ecig the have kinda a blank stare but talk about wanting to try one and don't know where to start. I tell most of them to try a Blu and if they like it and want a better set up I help them purchase a better set up like a twist or spinner with a evod. So far 4-5 people have made the switch
