Curiosity more then anything I guess,

Running on normal wattage mode is better then the bypass that’s on it tbf
Nothing wrong with that. I usually don't use bypass mode because it reminds me too much of my ego days.

Got my Pulse 80w yesterday. It's a winner. My only complaint is that battery life is short with a dual coil Pulse 24, but that's expected with a single cell device. I don't have any 20700 cells and don't know if I'll get any in the next few weeks.

TC is very customizable--you can set the TCR for any of the TC modes. You can also set resistance (but shouldn't have to).

I've only had a day with it, but my sense is that this device was worth the wait.

They're a lot better at single cell dual coil. Rocking dual coil on my Mirage and don't have a problem with uptime. That's with the Ijoy one, would expect the vapcell/sanyo to perform even better.

Yeah, I know. I've done the homework but I have an armada of 18650 and this is my very firstest ever 20700 capable mod.

Hey. Does this MOD has curve mode?
Yes, the Pulse 80w has curve mode. I've played with it a bit to get a 'hard' hit for the first two seconds, essentially doing my own 'hard' mode. Seems to work just fine. I believe one of the newer firmware updates will provide an actual hard and normal hit in power mode though.

I don't use TC (and apparently the TC with the current firmware isn't great), but it appears to have the curve for power and TC modes if I understand correctly. Looks like in TC mode, you can set different temps for the curve?

Real happy with mine, it was worth the wait to me.

Are there any firmware updates yet?
I couldn't find anything on the VV site.
Not that I'm aware of. I've been checking too.

Mine came with 0.0.0.5. If you watch Tony B's Recurve review, he shows some new features they will be adding (hard/normal, up down to change modes instead of 3 clicks, etc). None of those are in 0.0.0.5, so I've been keeping an eye out. I would use the hard mode instead of having to use the power curve as a 'preheat' and the up/down to navigate modes would be nice because the fire button is almost too responsive when trying to change modes.

I'm not using TC, so everything is fine with the 0.0.0.5 to me, but I would like the above features.

Personally, I would also like it if the lock function only locked the up/down buttons and not the fire button, but a lot of folks disagree over this one. I've had my wattage bump up/down once or twice with it in my pocket, but I've never had it fire. That, or maybe change it so pressing the up/down the first time with it in sleep mode only wakes up the mod and it takes a second click of up/down to change the settings. I think that would do the trick for me as well. Currently, even when it's asleep, pressing up/down even once will change the settings.

I've been checking the VV site daily, and also watching for new Tony B videos that may mention any updates. I think VV did a great job for their first chip though. No regrets yet about this not having the Gene chip.

FWIW, I have been using this mod for a few days now. A few things I've noted:
A. I have found really no difference between my 20700 battery and an 18650 with the adapter. My 18650 is an LG, and the 20700 is an Efest - both purchased at RTD vapor.
B. I have only used it in regulated mode (don't know enough to use bypass mode), and have noticed "weird things" - like, if I leave it sti for a long time, it will ask me if it's a new or old load again... (?), and, when I first installed my rda (the recurve), it read my build at 0.79 ohms. Then once I accidentally pressed "new load" instead of old, and it re-read my day-old, saturated build at ohm levels over 1.1x (the one that started at 0.79). Is that normal? Once I even got a "ohms too high" message. ... I did clean off the contacts and it helped a little...
C. With the recurve, I started by making my own coil - a simple 26ga, SS round wire, 3mm, with 8 wraps (exactly like how Daniel DJSLB did in his review of the Recurve). Out of laziness today, I installed one of the pre-built, provided nichrome coils, which the device read at 0.29 ohms and started it off at I think, 45 watts. (with my 20700 battery). (I know this might say more about the Recurve than the Pulse, but I'm going to go back to the round wire build next time I have to re-wick.)
D. I can't find anything on the website that says how to update the firmware... ?
E. I can't find anything in the printed manual (can't find the manual online, either) about how to change some of the settings - for instance, the screen brightness, or screen timeout (I don't even know if that's possible, but it certainly should be, as I think the default settings for this are draining my battery faster than necessary), or, what if I wanted to change the ohms (because I knew my build was not over 1.0 ohms)? I suppose I'd have to enter bypass mode, but frankly, I'm too scared to do that right now (I know how silly that sounds).
F. I did try TC with the SS coil I made. Didn't really like it much so I switched back to regular power mode.

Sorry if I sound like such a noob. I'm not only new to squonking, but new to RDAs as well. :/

@LyLyV, I don't see any option to change screen brightness or timeout, either.

I would try the resistance on the Recurve on another mod, and try another atty on the Pulse. It is unusual to see resistace jumping around. That's usually caused by a bad connection on the coil--heating/cooling causes expansion/contraction. Sometimes a lead gets between the screw and mount rather than trapped underneath it, and you don't know until the wire heats and cools.

In TC, I'm using Master of Clouds SS316L 26awg, 2.75mm, 11/10 wraps in a dual coil Pulse 24. I have TCR set to 0980 and starting wattage at 50.

I found the default 1100 was too high for this wire on this mod in this atomizer.

Hi --- Thanks for the feedback. I think that what was happening was the connections were bad because I'd had a little bit of leaking going on (probably over-squonked a few times while I was figuring things out). I've got my device set up with squonk pin and this is my only squonking device, so I didn't try attaching it to anything else for those reasons. ...

FYI - I emailed VV and got this reply:

"Thank you for your email.
Our mod recently can not change the screen brightness and screen timeout. The next version will update and add a fuction to adjust the screen brightness. We will release a new software in June. We will set up a link on our official website to download it."

I do want to say that I really like this mod. I guess I just expected more from the chip coming from the Vaporesso Swag, which has a bit more functionality. Maybe they pushed it out before it was fully developed?

I'm going to go back to my basic round wire coil next time I have to re-wick. I really don't like having to buy coils for tanks, to be honest. It's kind of like driving a stick vs. driving an automatic. ;)
