Hi --- Thanks for the feedback. I think that what was happening was the connections were bad because I'd had a little bit of leaking going on (probably over-squonked a few times while I was figuring things out). I've got my device set up with squonk pin and this is my only squonking device, so I didn't try attaching it to anything else for those reasons. ...

FYI - I emailed VV and got this reply:

"Thank you for your email.
Our mod recently can not change the screen brightness and screen timeout. The next version will update and add a fuction to adjust the screen brightness. We will release a new software in June. We will set up a link on our official website to download it."

I do want to say that I really like this mod. I guess I just expected more from the chip coming from the Vaporesso Swag, which has a bit more functionality. Maybe they pushed it out before it was fully developed?

I'm going to go back to my basic round wire coil next time I have to re-wick. I really don't like having to buy coils for tanks, to be honest. It's kind of like driving a stick vs. driving an automatic. ;)
Good to hear that an update with additional features is forthcoming.

You can attach another 510-capable tank or dripper to a squonk mod. The mod or chip doesn't know or care that the center pin in the atty isn't hollow and if the non-squonking atty works on other devices, your mod should read resistance and fire it.

Just don't squeeze the bottle with that non-squonking atty. ;)

Anymore updates? I really like that it's regulated...please convince me...
I've been using mine for a week now. I like it a lot except for battery life with an 18650 and I'm hesitant to buy 20700's just because I have a fleet of 18mm cells.

I like the way it performs in power and bypass out of the box and the menu is not hard to navigate. The TCR for each of the TC modes are too high, but it reads and remembers resistance just fine. So, getting to the right coefficient for your wire/coil build is trial end error. But once you get there, it stays there and works like a dream.

Just remember that it's a single cell device.

I will probably buy another one unless Joyetech, Eleaf or Wismec release a squonker I can upgrade with Arctic Fox.

I got one by accident  using for 15 minutes now and almost half through the bottle. May have to do something with my build but it's so cloudy I can't see it

FWIW, I have been using this mod for a few days now. A few things I've noted:
A. I have found really no difference between my 20700 battery and an 18650 with the adapter. My 18650 is an LG, and the 20700 is an Efest - both purchased at RTD vapor.
B. I have only used it in regulated mode (don't know enough to use bypass mode), and have noticed "weird things" - like, if I leave it sti for a long time, it will ask me if it's a new or old load again... (?), and, when I first installed my rda (the recurve), it read my build at 0.79 ohms. Then once I accidentally pressed "new load" instead of old, and it re-read my day-old, saturated build at ohm levels over 1.1x (the one that started at 0.79). Is that normal? Once I even got a "ohms too high" message. ... I did clean off the contacts and it helped a little...
C. With the recurve, I started by making my own coil - a simple 26ga, SS round wire, 3mm, with 8 wraps (exactly like how Daniel DJSLB did in his review of the Recurve). Out of laziness today, I installed one of the pre-built, provided nichrome coils, which the device read at 0.29 ohms and started it off at I think, 45 watts. (with my 20700 battery). (I know this might say more about the Recurve than the Pulse, but I'm going to go back to the round wire build next time I have to re-wick.)
D. I can't find anything on the website that says how to update the firmware... ?
E. I can't find anything in the printed manual (can't find the manual online, either) about how to change some of the settings - for instance, the screen brightness, or screen timeout (I don't even know if that's possible, but it certainly should be, as I think the default settings for this are draining my battery faster than necessary), or, what if I wanted to change the ohms (because I knew my build was not over 1.0 ohms)? I suppose I'd have to enter bypass mode, but frankly, I'm too scared to do that right now (I know how silly that sounds).
F. I did try TC with the SS coil I made. Didn't really like it much so I switched back to regular power mode.

Sorry if I sound like such a noob. I'm not only new to squonking, but new to RDAs as well. :/
The reason your not noticing any difference from a 20700 to a 18650 is because it’s not about size it’s about the MAHs of the cell so a 18650 that’s 3000mah 20amp & a 20700 that’s 3000mah 30amp will last for about the same time because there both 3000mah the only benefit from 20700 is the resistance of the coil that you can use because it can deal with 30amp compared to the 18650s 20amp. The Pulse 80W definitely needs more software updates as I agree it eats through cells at a unusual rate, hopefully a fix is in the pipeline.
