There's nothing groundbreaking here. A very simple mod; (it's a straight USB passthrough) not very pretty but she smokes like a tar kettle and is simple to construct.
Used the following:

2xAAA box--R.S.
1.5 amp momentary switch--R.S.*
# 20 AWG USB cable--Junk drawer*
801 atomizer--Runyan
Kensington power pack.

The Kensington PP is one of the best things I've found in a while for our use. It's been reviewed extensively in another thread but just wanted to add my thumbs-up. You can measure the capacity in vaping days instead of vaping hours. Can't hardly run the thing down.

*I know; some are saying overkill with the wires and switch but remember, you want to drop all the voltage you can across the coil, not small wires and switch contacts.
Anyway...Thought someone might want to try one. It's pure simplicity.
Sorry for the *so-so* pics.

Yep, it doesn't get much simpler OR much better than this. I have the same set up using a 901 and it works great. Only recently superseded by my BN112 mod.

Yeah framitz, sitting here now with more batteries than DealX has and not using them that much.
Guess I'll just have to designate one day a week as "battery recharge" day to keep them up.
BTW what is your BN112 mod ? Must have missed it.

I must have close to 10 various e-cig batteries sitting idle. I'm starting to get a little concerned since I only use them when I'm out, and even in the car I use a pass through.

It's not very pretty, but at 4.8V it works great.

That's a good looking rig. I might have to try one of those myself.
I made this battery driven version awhile back but used the 2 end caps. I use an 18850 battery with it now.

Not very pretty but still one of my favorites.
This 5 volt power pack has really got me spoiled though.
