I could try it, will do it these days.
They are home-made but look pretty good.

Stay tuned.

Good news :)

I don't know if Nico or Laredo want to contribute suggestions on charger chip or how best to allow passthrough while charging (or not) ...

I don't use a charger chip in my mods, I let the charger do the work. ;-)

For the charge while vaping, I just wire the battery and charger in parallel. That worked great for the boost converter mod I did in the PV_Pak. Not sure if it will work as well with the voltage regulator mod I just posted. But then again, that may not be the correct or best method.

Not helping at all, I look for a charger controller.
Just protection is easy to build in the pic, and we should use protected cells anyway.

Kinabaloo, what would you use as a current limiter and current sense?

I'll try to browse for a PIC lithium charger and see what comes up.

This 5 pin one seems fine: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...dders-printed-circuit-board-5.html#post380896

Personally I'd just stick with usb charging (and 'passthrough'), no PIC; but it's up to you! Some car problems taking up my time at the moment ...

There is no way for me to get these chips at reasonable prices. I cannot find them at local distributors nor can afford the shipping prices that maxim or microchip tax.

Maybe because Li chemistry isn't used so much here, but that's not an excuse for local distributors.
Until I find a solution, I will follow this thread and help in any way I can.

There are some sites that let you upload circuits you have properly designed and have them made and shipped too you. The pricing varies. Someone, hint hint, could always find the site with the best deal and upload. I even believe some of them catalog what you submit and anyone could order them. Of course that's just a thought. Hell you could probably start selling them online.

Crrraaaccck, and folks it is going, going, GOING, GONE. Out of the park for me.

Good Job Ceasar  You do REALLY NICE WORK

Burnie

Your too funny Burnie I thought the same way until I decided to do some research. I think I'm going to take a CRACK at it. All that can happen is that I mess it up, then I'm back to the tacktile switches...LOL
