I have a 3 month old eGo 1000 mAh battery in daily service, rotating duty with a 650 mAh passthru. Both Joye eGo-T brand. Running either a Boge 2 ohm carto or Kanger 2 ohm punched for a tank. Burning me some "Massive chocolate mint" AV 100% by juice. Total vaping bliss.

Until it simply quit. No flashing, no burning to death smell. Nothing. My ego now has 1000 mAh of nuthin. I put a voltmeter on it and got nothing when the button is pushed. My other passthru shows a healthy 3.2 volts, thankyouverymuch.

Pitch it? Strip it for its battery? Is there some magic spell that brings eGo-s back to life?

I would have had the notion that you fried the battery but 2.0ohms isn't anything that should do that. Dead is dead, though. Do with it what you will. Bury it or use it for science.

Most of my attys drop resistance as they age. The Joye 510's start at 2.2 but after 2 weeks of use, are usually down to 2.0 or 1.9. After a couple more weeks, they get down to 1.6 or so! Luckily, I just adjust my variable volt mod down as the atty's age.

With a dremel and some epoxy, the egos actually have a pretty good connector for reuse. Gives a good quality 510 connector with ego threads should you decide a cone might look good on the mod.

As for the batteries, probably better to stick to some AW or Ultrafire batteries; they are ready to go and fit the chargers and battery boxes without any problems with end caps/protection boards. Much safer that way.

You can try some things to see if it might be the problem. Pulling the center pin up is one thing you can do because it can be that the carto/charger/battery aren't making a solid connection. Another thing you can try is to clean the post and see how that works. Since dried juice can prevent a connection from being made as well. I know it's all common sense type of stuff but, sometimes we forget. You should give it a try and see if that works for you.

UPDATE!!! I realized that the wife would be, uh, um, "dissapointed" if I bought another ego. So I decided to do a search for fixing dead ego's. Sorry, but I didn't save the link, and it took a while to find. But there is a guy on youtube that said something about the bottom cap coming un-soldered, breaking the circuit. I figured there was nothing to lose, and carefully took it apart. Surprise, surprise! Broken solder connection! I re-soldered and took a toke. PERFECTION!!! *angels sing* Thank you, youtube guy.

Now back to your regularly scheduled vaping.
