ok, so ive been vaping for a couple of months and its been amazing. no analogs since day one! yay for me blah blah. ;). anyway my madre came over this weekend to visit and i showed her my kgo vv with a vivi nova tank. she loved the idea of it and how i quit smoking with it so fast. but when she tried it... lets just say it was a little much. i tried explaing carto and voltage and mahs and pretty well got the deer in the headlights look.

so my question is what would you guys recommend for a beginner who doesnt want to have to tinker or worry about voltage or ohms or any of that. and that doesnt cost too much. im trying to just convince her to go with an ego but she wants somthing a little smaller. is there a good pen style or something you guys can recommend? thanks for the help guys.

im trying to convert both of my parents who are pack a day smokers like i was. my old man loves the idea of mine cause its big and manly lol and he likes to tinker. i just need help at the other end of the spectrum.

thanks again.

650mAh eGo batts are quite small. You can always go stealth small with a 350mAh, its the size of a key chain.

If by size you mean slimmer, theres always the mega 510 manual battery. Get a bunch of low resistance Boge cartos so your mom can just use 1 for ~3 days then toss it, no tinkering involved. If you purchase in bulk, the price can be as low as $1 per carto. Compared to a pack of analogs a day? You tell me.

Hi vaprpunk,

I too at first was concerned about the size when I was suggested an Ego.. So I started with An E-cab. Smaller pen like style ( works well and very feminine and pretty .. She can even get a pink one. Now I don't care about size but still care about esthetics so I have a pink Provari mini. I think your mom will like it.

If size doesn't matter I would recommend the Kgo NON VARIABLE VOLT. Starter kit is $43.00.
eGo Class- both 510 thread
JoyTech eGo fires @ 3.3 volts
Kgo fires @ 3.7 volts
You could start her on SR cartos (cooler vape) or the Vivi Nova- lass hassle with filling.
Here's a review:

If the Kgo is too large you may want to consider the cig sized Smokeless Image Volt (808 threading)
Best of Luck.

Well, I think it's pretty much unanimously agreed that cig-a-likes are no good. But if that's the way you gotta go to get your mom to try it, I think Blu and Njoy are the two top rated brands.

But I think a simple eGo kit with a clearomizer tank is really the way to go. The most maintenance involved is refilling the tank and keeping the batteries charged. Just leave out the milliamps and voltage and technical talk when selling her on it. Give her simple "fill the tank, push the button and pull" instructions and I think she will receive it a little better.

I second going with the disposables to try to hook someone onto the healthier habit. Blu disposables are an absolute no-no though! NJOY has a running deal right now where you can order one for just shipping on their website.

Electronic Cigarette - E-Cigarette - Vapor E-Cig | NJOY

Personally, I have got 2 of my friends into vaping using these little things. I do not mean to sound like an Njoy promoter, I love my egos and the EVODs that go along with them more than anything (This would be my recommendation if look and feel was not an issue), but for many smokers it is going to start out being about look and feel and the King has both. Nicotine level seems high at first glance but it does not feel as high as it states on the box, and the thing is so light it is almost hard to believe is gets any battery life at all. Juice taste is something I have tried to recreate in my other e-cigs because I like it so much, The menthol is better than the regular if you are going for cigarette taste.

Battery life is really bad, vaping away heavily will only get you about 3 hours of use and from 711 they cost 8 bucks which is much to pricy for a disposable imo; these are really the only negatives but I think all cig look alikes have price and battery issues anyway. Good luck trying to get your rents to make the switch!

By the way, vaprpunk, let her know that the big black box isn't part of the ecig setup. :)

Hi - I don't think cig-a-likes are "bad," they just have a short battery life and not enough power to provide a really good vaping experience. Most of us started with them, and many people still use them, but generally members are hesitant to recommend them since the user can outgrow cig-a-likes very quickly and we don't want to see you spend the money - I won't say "waste" money, because vaping has a learning curve no matter where you start and any money spent to stop smoking is ultimately worth it IMO.

Some people find even a small eGo intimidating at first and would be more comfortable with a cigarette-sized device. This is the lowest price I have found for 510 starter kits. Starter Kits

Since the batteries have a 510 connection, you can get a a couple of Nanos to put on it when you want to go a little more advanced. Vision Nano Clearomizer - Clear

Hey the good news is she's started on her journey and although maybe not a great PV gotta give her kudos for taking that first step on her own. If she has ANY issues with her PV just post the problem here with the brand name and we'll figure something out.

I was on the phone with my mom last night and learned she too was trying vaping :)

I haven't seen her setup yet, but I imagine it's an Njoy type situation. She's coming for a visit in a few weeks and I look forward to letting her try my eVic. I think the juice choices will blow her away! I never thought my mom (45+ years on analogs) would ever try such a thing, and on her own. It makes me really happy.

Kanger makes a nice small set that uses the same coil heads as the T2's. They are the square-one kit on capevape and I think I have seen them called cubics or something on some other sites. I have bought a few of these sets as gifts for my smoking friends and they seem to do pretty well with them. They are kind of an eGo style clearo combo, but the battery\clearo thread is proprietary. Not sure if you can get replacements but the whole kit is only 50 bucks and they hold up pretty well. They are 750mah, and are really small.
