What is the situation with PVs and rain. After all it is an electrical device. Don't use it, use it but be careful. It can get wet, a little bit, a lot, if it is not an expensive one?
Has there been a thread about this and I missed it?
I've used them in the rain. I wouldn't use my homemade boxmods which water could get in easier but I've used Rivas, volts and other pvs which are pretty well sealed except for the switch area which you need to take precaution to make sure nothing gets in that area. Plus if a Riva or Volt shorts out I've lost 15 bucks, worth the chance.
If you know it's going to be raining you can tape something over the button to seal it and just press that to activate. I've done that in a downpour at a concert.
I've never been too concerned with rain and PVs. Hell, I dropped a riva in the toilet and vaped it after letting it dry for a few days. Not that I would suggest it, and if you're the safety-conscious type I'd say electricity + water + Inhalation might not be the best combination.
Depends on the battery..with autos I wouldn't get them soaking wet..slim ecigs have vents auto or not in the tip..I killed a slim XL 510 manual getting it wet for a short time under a faucet..water must have got into the switch I tried letting it dry but it was done..it was used awhile though so it wasn't a big deal.
eGo style probably would be fine short of dropping them in water..I have rinsed my Smok Tech eGo's right under the faucet a bunch of times without issue. I don't hold them under long or hold the button under a lot of pressure though..I dry them right after..I also wouldn't push the button when rinsing either...
With a fully mechanical mod there won't be too many problems. When you start having circuit boards and auto batteries and other such things is when you have problems.
I'd say you have more chance being able to vape in the rain than smoke in the rain, ew wet ciggy .... haha, just try to keep it as dry as possible if you really can't go without it until you find shelter.
