I was a closet smoker. Not with my husband and friends, but with my parents and kids. Hiding from the kids when they were small wasn't so hard, but as they got older it got harder. Hiding the fact that I smoked from my parents wasn't too bad, as they live 7 hours away, but whenever they'd come for a visit I'd have to go into a frenzy of cleaning. Searching for butts outside the front door, airing out my car and spraying with febreeze and all, washing my smoking coats, having that last cigarette before they were expected to show up and then jumping in the shower to wash off the smell. I realized it was pathetic and stupid, but I just didn't want them to be disappointed in me. Now I don't have to worry about all that stuff. As a bonus, I don't feel nearly the need to vape that I did to smoke, so a long visit from the parents when I can't sneak away is much easier than when I was smoking. Before, I'd be climbing the walls trying to figure out how to get away and burn one, but now I can go without and not be stressed.

Where I work there are alot of people who smoke but never seem to have cigs. Its a regular occurence to arive at the smoking section outside only to be "hit up" by at least least one cigarette mooch.

Freedom from "Can I bum a smoke?" has been a huge side benefit for me:)

now its: 'can I bum a couple ML of that juice please?'

lol

God willing I will be buying a brand new car tomorrow! I will never stink it up with cigarettes, their won't be ashes anywhere and I never even looked to see if the new car had an ashtray! (I used to look to see how big it was and how many butts it would hold) My mom asked me today if it came with an ashtray and I told her I didn't even know. I reminded her I was vaping now and she was delighted that I had not gone back to smoking! So....add making Mom happy to the list. So close to Mother's Day, and it probably was the best gift I could have given her. I wish you could have heard her reaction to learning I wasn't smoking! :D

It is great, isn't it? I just got a new car a couple months ago, and it still smells great. There's not that layer of ash over everything like there used to be. I don't have to drive with the window down in the middle of winter any more, either...
