Very cool TB. So now there are two working coils of this type in use in the entire vaping world lol.

Looks like you have the wick working well. Did you notice any difference with the wire between the tube and wick?

Love that AGA for this type of experimentation. So much more modder friendly that these little duds I have.

I sent you a PM. Uh, no, I don't think there is any difference with the way that I routed the neg lead as far as the performance, but my main concern was accessibility. I do want to try a slightly annealed mesh tube next time. I still have a bit left in this tank and am enjoying the flavor too much to mess with it right now. LOL

PM back at ya.

Agreed on the annealing. Makes the mesh hold it's shape better. Something else to pay attention to, is unlike my regular wicked gennys, the juice never darkens. I've ran at least 10ml since changing cleaning after a flavor change, and there is no indication whatsoever of a change in color.

I'm working on a quick video of the Big Screen D element. Going to be working on FQ after this, but it's working a treat for me here.

Trying Youtube here. LOL

Looks very good! I haven't tried Big D's wick yet, been out most of the day. After you've gone through a tank or so, pull the wick and see if you've got any juice in the tube - or you'll know if the vape starts tasting funky and the vapor production goes down. I'm working on another FQ wick and I think I'm going to seal both ends with the fp mortar to see if I get any juice leeching into the tube.

the best taste I have ever got of a genny type atomizer..

That is a key point you make K.

I have no trouble making wicks and coils regarding shorting with SS wicks, but there is just something very nice flavor-wise that these deliver when wicking is proper that keeps me coming back to it no matter the PIA they can be to make.

Big D, I am using your wick - 7.5 watts on the Zmax; Good flavor and lots of vapor. I wish I would have put some fp mortar in the top though, I was too impatient and wanted to give yours a try! I agree with you on the juice not darkening, I just bought some .....in' Birdie juice from Juicy Vapor (they are local here) and it is a very clear juice. I'm going to check it at the end of the tank for darkening.

It is tb I can only go as high as u see the brass nuts, anymore and it shorts.. I will tweak it tomorrow and clean the height adjustment a bit...but it's about 4 wraps or so on that smallest fq 12 coil wraps gives me about 1.5ohm

Oh also tb that clump at the top is fireplace repair material.. Right underneath it is the coil under the wick material.. My coil probably goes through the hole in the quartz I am sure...

That is similar to what I ran into using 30ga with the glass tubes. Element had to be longer than I wanted to get above 1 ohm, and a lot of heat is wasted as it sinks to the atty body. Whole dang thing would get so hot chain vaping.
