Hi,
I learned about the confusion over RN4075 carts not really fitting a true 901. So I went back to the place I got my true 901's and bought some of their carts. I like how they had ridges at the end to keep the filler from binding to the wick. However, they still don't fit as tightly as I would like.

Does anyone have a suggestion where to get true 901 carts that fit tightly in the atomizer?

Thanks,
:) Dave W.

Hi Dave, On the carts, I use 510 carts on my 901 atomizers for my mods. They hold 3 times the juice. They are loose and to tighten them you use a candle to heat a needle and melt a "ring" around the cart so it fits tight. When you melt the plastic it raises the plastic up around where you melt it and thus tightens up the fit. You can also melt a couple spots on the 901 carts and they tighten right up. the best place in where the melted spot will be about 1/16 to 1/18 down in the atomizer.

Be careful not to melt too deep, just on the surface, not through.

I really appreciate the input from you guys. Again though, I like the plastic jutting out from the atty end of the 901 carts I have. It seems to do a good job holding the filler in the cart when I top off.

I like the idea of melting a ring around my 901 carts.

I'm still interested in purchasing 901 carts that would fit tightly, and not require me to do this.

Thanks,
:) Dave W.

I use 510 carts quite a bit! They work fine, wick better and hold more juice = less topping up :) Only downside I have found that odd cart is really loose so if not careful could come off! (only found odd one like this though!)

I'm having one heck time getting my 510 to start wicking. My best solution so far has been to stand the 510 vertically, LED up for a while. What am I doing wrong?

Thanks,
:) Dave

I suppose I should read a post thoroughly before responding :) Just a spot, not a ring, huh? I'm looking forward to giving this a try.

I need an acceptable answer to my question quickly. Please do not hijack this thread nor any other thread that I start

Well, please excuse me I'll make sure I don't. First snap *ss answer I've ever received on ECF, so I guess I was past due one. I thought you'd been given several acceptable answers already??

Dave sorry for hijacking your thread, but this seems a good place to ask my question.....The screwdriver mini is labled as 901, but Trog actually sends it with a RN4075 atomizer I've heard, because the RN4075 gets hotter.... Should I purchase both RN4075 atomizers and carts to replace the originals, or can I also use 901 atty's and carts? Which is better? What parts can be mixed and matched on these boogers? Are ya'll saying I can use a 510 cart with a RN4075 atty? I haven't gotten my SD yet so I don't know what I should order....

Yeah they all pretty much mix and match, some carts tighter than others etc, but I had all sorts of different ones, and never had a problem with something not fitting! And yes the RN4075 does seem to run hotter = more juice required to keep it wet!

Hi Dave, To answer your question, yes just a spot or two on the 901 cart will tighten it. Use the ring around trick to make the 510 carts fit the 901 atomizer. Something else that works on the 901 is to remove the little inner cart and then just melt several pin holes with the needle around the mouthpiece part.

WV2Win, good info but I beat you to it several posts back. Hahaha. :pervy:

You know I think I was short with you. Please accept this delayed apology.

And you were right about the acceptable solution. Melting the little ridges in the 901 cart works very well and isn't very time consuming.

I hope that we can continue to share helpful information with each other.

This is really so simple and low tech, but I thought I’d mention it as a newbie. It's a similar situation to what is described.

New 510 Carts fit 901s with a snug but not overly tight fit. However, if you use the carts in 510s, putting them in and pulling them out a few times, they will be slightly loose on the 901s and could slip off. I just put a bit of regular transparent tape on them after wiping the cart and atty to be sure they have no moisture on them.

To make it easy to remove, the tape should be folded over at the ends onto itself, making a little tab to grab hold of to peel the tape off easily. It also should be short enough that it does not actually go all the way around the eCig, but stops before the ends meet.

While obvious, it's the chemical makeup of the tape that people would be concerned about. Probably why it wasn't mentioned earlier.

Thanks for the information ... Do you mean even if the tape is on the outside? That didn't even occur to me. This is all relatively new to me. Are you talking about the makeup of the adhesive that could potentially get sucked in through a loose fitting? Just for further clarification, I will try to attach a pic of what I'm talking about, the tape is on the outside.
