I use a minicigarette. One of the atomizers just stopped working >nothing< How do I get it to work again???

Also, where is the best place to get the totally wicked liquid?

You don't say which model (DSE901, RN4081, etc.) you have. Your atty may have just failed as they all eventually do. Sometimes the center contact on the battery end of the atomizer gets pushed up too far to make good electrical contact. Prying on the contact gently with a small screwdriver or a paper clip, then reassembling the device will sometimes get it working again. YMMV.

Totally Wicked can be found at:

USA site - e-cig liquid and electronic cigarette supplies / Totally Wicked eLiquid / Electronic Cigarette e-liquid shop

UK site - Electronic Cigarette e-liquid / Totally Wicked e-Liquid / Electronic Cigarette e-liquid shop

It's the mini pen style - I guess its the 901 according to the website. It was working really good then all of a sudden - nothing. I tried blowing into it. Should I try the compressed air? I am going to try pulling the contact down. That sounds like it's worth a try.

I'm just confused reading about all the different things people do to clean it. I'm still pretty new at this & need quick and easy solutions.

Thanks!

Also, what is the best way to prime? How to get a brand new atomizer going? Do you drip the juice right onto the contact thingy?

You can do that.. If you want, you can also try to blow it into a tissue or paper towel first to get some of the yucky stuff they put on them to keep them wet first and then drip a bit... Don't expect it to taste very good at first, since that liquid is nasty tasting usually

I used to treat my atty's like a science experiment. I got fed up. When production decreases, i replace it with a new one. I think it's a psychological thing. Atomizers are small intricate little devices that set the brain to think they should be treated with the utmost care. When you break an atty down to it's individual pieces it's just a little wire coil that gets clogged up with residue. That is the component in question. Until they design an atomizer that can be disassembled for cleaning purposes, i say just bulk up on atty's and have fun vaping.

901 atty's are getting cheaper & cheaper every month anyways. I'm a heavy full time direct drip vaper. I get by very nicely using 1-2 atty's per month. Save yourself the trouble.

What bothers me about attys are that they are mainly just a bit of wire... You'd think that they would come out with something a bit more reliable and longer lating... I know we are spending alot less using these compared to analogs, but when you think about it, the cost is still taken into consideration when you think of all the attys and juice, along with wanting differant styles, ect..

In return for all your help, here's mine...

Since starting this thread, I've given up on the 901 and it's atomizer problems. The atty's for my 510 have lasted for months. I rarely clean them. I just make sure I have a fresh battery.

Like was said in a previous post, you really can choose to make atomizers a science project OR NOT :)

12 hours???...LOL...I've never let anything dry for 12 hours. I'm not that patient. :D

When I clean an atty with alcohol (Everclear), I just blow it out good and drip on some fresh juice. After a few priming puffs the alcohol will evaporate out anyway. If I do the Coke soak, I flush out the Coke with water, then flush out the water with alcohol and proceed as above. If I had to wait 12 hours, I'd just throw the thing away and get a new one. But that's just me. :D

question .. how do you avoid getting any liquid (coke or alcohol) on the battery facing end of a 901? that's that part that i don't understand. i want to clean up my atty that is one week old. i have two other ones, but i want to figure out how to clean them properly.

Sorry I didn't reply sooner. I've been a bit busy lately. I hope the following description will answer your questions.

When I clean the atty with Everclear, I put my finger over the battery end and fill the inside of the atty about 2/3 full with alcohol. Then I cover the top with my thumb and shake it a bit. I usually do this a couple of times. If it's really gunked up, I may even soak it a while in a small cup or glass of alcohol. When I'm done, I drain the atty in the sink, wipe off the outside (including the battery contact), then put a bit of tissue or paper towel in the cartridge end and blow through the battery end of the atty with my mouth. This will get 99% of the alcohol out and the rest will evaporate in a few minutes. It doesn't have to be 100% dry on the inside. Then I drip a few drops of e-liquid directly on the atomizer bridge, put on a fresh battery and start puffing.

For the Coke soak, I let the atty soak overnight or even for a couple of days. Then I take the atty out of the Coke and flush it with running water to get rid of the Coke. Then I use alcohol as described above to get rid of the water. I wind up the same way, blowing the remaining alcohol out before re-priming and smoking.
