Before anyone says anything, my batteries are rated for 18A continuous discharge. This means on a freshly charged battery (4.2v) I can "safely" handle as low as .24Ω. I would much rather stay at at least double that (~.5Ω, yes I realize this would be 4x 2Ω coils) since my batteries aren't new, and this is entering super-sub-ohm territory. I do have some VTC5's on the way, however I bought them from fasttech a month ago so I really have no clue when they will arrive, and kinda wanna get myself acquainted with quads before trying that .2Ω quad coil with my new batteries. All that being said...

What's your target resistance when you make your quad coils for use with a mech mod? As in, at what point do you feel that quad coils really start to out-perform dual coils? Tempted to just try this myself with good 'ol trial and error but figured I'd ask some of the more experienced people before wasting my kanthal ^_^

Before I say anything please do not push those batteries to the max until you feel safe they are legit VTC5's. There are lots of fakes out there and FT has been called out before for fakes.

Now, to answer your question the resistance really depends on the airflow hole size and gauge of wire being used.

You personally have to adjust it to your personal preference. I prefer parallel dual builds rather than quads. Start with 30ga quads and work from there. If it's too hot either increase air or ohms. Then just adjust it to your preference.
