Cleaning an atomizer fresh out of the package thakes only a few minutes. Cleaning an atty after use can take 24 hours, if one includes air drying time.
I have tried boiling attys, soaking them in alcohol, burning off the old juice and several other tactics. Frankly, I don't think that anything can be done to really get them clean. Atomizers and cartos tend to be throw away items for me. I try to vape similar flavors for each atty or carto; in other words, if I start on a fresh atty with a coffee vape, I'll try to stick with coffees/cappuccinos for that atty.
On cartomizers: I have watched at least a dozen videos on youtube etc. that purport to show you how to clean a cartomizer for recycling/reuse. I don't ever seem to get them clean, regardless of the method I use, and am now thinking of throwing away some 48 cartomizers. I dunno. Maybe I'll fill several with strong flavored vapes, but I don't know.
Thankfully, These days I keep three attys at hand, one for tobacco vapes, one for bakery-type vapes and one for fruit vapes. I don't use enough menthol to justify having a fourth atty ready for it, but when I vape menthol I use the tobacco atty. Mostly I use cartos. I am on the same reg. risistance carto fwith 8 refills (Tootsie Rolly, if you're curious). It's vaping great at 5 volts.
