I'm using the 3Ω Boge carto on my 5v, and went from 18mg to 15mg juice, I think I could drop down a little more and be ok. Also the 3Ω cartos are lasting 2 weeks or more. I don't vape the 5v constantly, but quite a bit thruought the day, probably as much as I vape my 3.7's, and I am pretty much a chain vapor.

Hey Rob, did you mean you have gotten weeks out of one cheap carto? Are we talking a Boge?

Yep! That's exactly right Steve. Dang thing just keeps on pouring out the vape! I wish I could find a mega size that worked as well. I've tried a bunch of them and find I keep coming back to the Boge std 3.0 for this 5v box. (for this DesertShip/Camel juice anyway).

I think juice can play a role too, not to take anything away from Boge and their quality control. Boges always work.

Hey Bob, so far, I get the most longevity from my cartos with KBV RY 4. So many love what you came up with and I have seen very very few negative comments about it.

It's as good in my boge on day 6 as it is in a brand new carto. So glad I ordered 60 ml.

Cleaning an atomizer fresh out of the package thakes only a few minutes. Cleaning an atty after use can take 24 hours, if one includes air drying time.

I have tried boiling attys, soaking them in alcohol, burning off the old juice and several other tactics. Frankly, I don't think that anything can be done to really get them clean. Atomizers and cartos tend to be throw away items for me. I try to vape similar flavors for each atty or carto; in other words, if I start on a fresh atty with a coffee vape, I'll try to stick with coffees/cappuccinos for that atty.

On cartomizers: I have watched at least a dozen videos on youtube etc. that purport to show you how to clean a cartomizer for recycling/reuse. I don't ever seem to get them clean, regardless of the method I use, and am now thinking of throwing away some 48 cartomizers. I dunno. Maybe I'll fill several with strong flavored vapes, but I don't know.

Thankfully, These days I keep three attys at hand, one for tobacco vapes, one for bakery-type vapes and one for fruit vapes. I don't use enough menthol to justify having a fourth atty ready for it, but when I vape menthol I use the tobacco atty. Mostly I use cartos. I am on the same reg. risistance carto fwith 8 refills (Tootsie Rolly, if you're curious). It's vaping great at 5 volts.

I would say it does give a little better throat hit. I think the fact that its a little warmer, with a little more vapor helps with the throat hit. Hopefully this will help you cut down on the nicotine :) I find the 5 volt more satisfying for sure.

Try KBVs RY4. Its awesome, if you like a mellow tobacco flavor with slight sweetness from the hints of vanilla and caramel.

For Sandyk wanting to cut down on nicotine -

Ditto on what you said about the 5v throat hit. Being warmer and giving a boost to the flavors should help cut down the nicotine. With myself, I'm starting to think the nicotine number is in my head. I went from 24mg to 18mg and then to 12mg and couldn't tell a difference, except when on the computer and vaping more, I could tell I was getting too much. Then went to 6mg and that seemed too low at first. I would take 12mg to work, golf and the casino, and 6mg was fine at home watching TV or on the computer. Now I get the two of them mixed up and find myself going a whole day at the golf course using 6mg, however I think I'm vaping more, so there is a trade-off.

I want to thank you for recommending KBV's RY4. I am very happy with the RY4 from FSUSA, however it is very dark and doesn't do well at 5v. I mentioned that and you said to try KBV's. I ordered 2 bottles, let them steep for almost 2 weeks and now have a new favorite. I still enjoy the FSUSA RY4 in a 1.5 dual coil on the 3.7v (6mg nic), but hats off to KBV. Very nice juice in both your mods!

My favorite menthol tobaccos are (in order of preference):

1. A DIY menthol I made by combining dekang Hilton tobacco with 8 real menthol crystals, steeped for a month. Tastes like a Kool.
Smilin' Special Menthol from V4L
I just got a sample of Minnesota Menthol from Vermillion River. It smells perfect, but so far I haven't vaped it. I'll let you know.

Non-tobacco menthols:

Hands down, KBV's Vape Placid.
Johnson Creek Arctic Menthol

I am not a big menthol guy; when I smoked cigarettes, I would occasionally substitute a pack of Newports for my regular red Marlboro 100's. Still, I like a menthol every once inawhile.

Oh BTW, the V4L Newport isn't bad at all....very close to the real deal. I forgot that in my list above.

HTHOTE=Godzilla;3473801]Hey ciego, who makes your favorite menthol? And is it a true menthol? I have a friend who will buy a kit if I produce a menthol she likes:)[/QUOTE]

On another note: I can't find my 3.7 box!! I don't remember where I put it last night. I'm vaping on an Ego in conjunction with my 5 volt Foxy, but I don't remember where I put the magic white 3.7! Aaargh!

I'm one of these guys who needs to order redundant backups of everything, because I misplace stuff so often. LOL

Ciego - 48 is a bunch to throw away. I have some boge's I'm using a third time. Try this; remove rubber cap, boil them a few minutes and stir them. Pour out the water, rinse and boil again and rinse. Smell each one. If any odor, throw out. Should be able to save 99% of them. Works for me. Haven't tried the clear ones yet and they don't look like they could hold up to boiling.

Higde...

Yeah, I've tried that. I can still smell juice in most of the boiled cartos.

Also, for anyone reading this: You gotta be careful not to overboil the cartomizers. It is very easy to damage a carto if you boil it too long.

I'll try boiling my big batch of cartomizers one more time, but frankly, I'm not hopeful. We'll see. It seems a shame to throw them away.

Just stay away from the 555 it might pull you away from the RY4 :) I got another almost ready named "Phillip more or less" to jab BT for sending infringement letters over the Maxboro ;-)

Thanks Hig. I got the 5v Foxy Box Mod this afternoon. Been vaping 12mg Warm Sugar Cookie...was telling my DH that this is incredible. He was amazed at all the vapor that came out of it. I am amazed that it only has 30% VG in it. KBV makes INCREDIBLE juice. I do think NIC mg is a head thing though. A mind is a powerful thing.

Going to review the FBM after I have been using it for a couple weeks. I like to take my time to evaluate it. Have a bunch of different juices to try and I hate to waste cartos so I got a couple Stealth Cannons from IKenVape coming my way and going put them on the FBM. My DH told me to order another one as he was impressed. It is so clean inside and looks very professional. I am on the fence between another FBM and a Variable Volt. Hey...lol..I am slow and old. DH has made me 4 of the 3.7 wood box mods so he was looking over the 5volt FBM real close. Told me for what I paid, I got an outstanding value..thanks, Steve!

By the way guys, I got some RY4 from KBV. Haven't tried it yet, letting it steep so that my first try with it will be at it's best. So how long to let it steep? The date on it is 6/6/11. I got my 3Ω test atty ready for the 5v FBM.

I guess it's my turn to borrow Steve's thread for a day as payback :p Personally I have yet to vape a steeped bottle, I find it good as soon as mixed. I do plan on changing that and mixing a bottle TO let steep and see if or how much difference there really is. I know that was Steve's plan in his message to me, order 2-30ML bottles to put one up a while to let it steep. That wasn't much of an answer I don't guess but IMO it's vape ready and can only get better :)

EDIT waves to SandyK :)
