So I have a quick qeustion. I am currently vaping, a 70% VG and 30% PG , the brand juice is VKA, and is 9 milligrams.

It inhales and exhales quite smoothly for me, and I can take a few hits without a coughing fit, like I did when I first started.
Now, I was experiencing hoarseness BEFORE I started on this vape, I had one of those vaporesso brands and would literally cough up a lung every single time. Could not use it. Plus it turned out it was defective when I took it back to the shop and got a refund.

I now use one of these Geekvape N30 and it is a lot better. But still having a little hoarsness.

Does 70% VG and 30% PG sound like a pretty decent ratio ?

The lady at the shop where I bought it, said, that if the hoarseness continues, to either consider changing the milligram down to 6 or to consider changing the ratio ?

I thought I would ask, is hoarseness normal when you are new at this ? Did any of you experience that ? If so, did you solve it with milligram changes or ratio changes ?

I never experienced any hoarseness. When I started vaping in 2012 the juices I was vaping were 18mg and 12mg. LOL, there was also a 24mg.

Within a month of starting I was mixing my own juices (DIY). For me, retail juices were over-flavored and way too sweet.

Currently I vape 6mg mostly. I make juices that are 50VG/50PG, 60/40 and 70/30.

A quick search for "hoarse" on ECF shows several posts and threads about hoarseness.

Yeah the hoarseness I had is actually getting better. Today my voice was almost back to normal. So this new vape and ratio mix seems to be working out. 9 ML seems to be working okay for me now. I tried the stronger ones, because I was a full flavored 100s 3 pack a day man. 18 mg, and I was doubled over coughing and thought I was going to die.

HOWEVER , I did recently discover when I started vaping, I was doing it wrong. I was sucking on it like I would a regular cig. Bad idea. When I take a decent drag on the vape now, I can get a good mouth to lung, and no cough.

I literally had to learn to smoke again :) Can't draw on them like you would an analog. At least I can't

Looks like a nice kit. What watts and ohms do you use? I vape 65/35vg at 9 watts.

I’d go 50/50 to start and go from there. I’d also turn it down a bit. Try lower wattage, say 11 to 12W and go up or down depending on how that feels. Commercial tanks are often set up to run with commercial juice ratios which are often in the 50/50 range these days. There was a time when they were 70/30-80/20ish PG/VG range and tanks would have problems with going too far away from that. When in doubt: turn it down.

I was wondering if 24 watts was a bit too high. I am going to drop and see
