I'm a new member and posted a new thread in ask the veterans. After I posted I never saw it show up. It was close to 24 hours ago. Not sure if I messed up or if its normal for it to take that long?

It won't show up until someone has answered your question :)
It could take two or three days depending on how busy everyone is ... hope that helps you!

Thanks for the info. Would it show up under my posts when I click on my user name? I think this thread did even before anyone replied. The other one did not.

thats where i looked for the other thread and couldnt find it, it should show up immediately after making the post. Whether anyone replied or not shouldnt matter

The "Ask the Vets" forum works a little different than the others. When you post, it goes invisible. Once it has been answered it will again become visible to you, both in that forum and in your post history (accessible from your profile). It's a little different than the normal discussion forums, anywhere else you post it will be visible right away.

I do see your thread, it was submitted successfully. I would recommend checking out this sub-forum in the meantime: Rebuildable Atomizer Systems You may find some of your answers in there (note that you may need 15 posts before you're able to post there, I can't recall offhand if that one does or not) :)

Now you've got me wondering how someone might respond to an invisible thread. I suppose it shows up for veterans, or something like that.

    Exactly ;-)

When a thread is posted there, it actually gets posted to a sub forum within the Veterans forum (only Vets and Mods have access). Once it's been answered by a vet or two, it is locked and moved back to the Ask the Vets forum where it is publicly visible
