I had a hard time when I started almost 4 years ago. I tried every trick in the book, or in this case on the site, but no real luck. That is until I read about removing bridges (regular 510 atty) and dripping directly on the coil. That's what did it for me. Constant full flavor without the burning and gunking up of the coil. I then bought 15 attys from a site that reduced the price by more than half if you ordered over a certain amount and I still have 3 left. So now I'm back and looking for the latest and greatest and tried some dual coil cartos that had good reviews (smoktech) but they are a no go for me. I need to have the coil bathed in the juice to get the full flavor and that makes it easier on the throat for me. I'm thinking of picking up a russian 91% or something equivalent.

In other words, try a different style of atty, your problem might be that simple. Just dont give up until you have explored every avenue. You're already off to a better start than me with your VV/VW device, I'm still using standard ego stuff, worked for me so I never felt the need to explore further.

If you like I could give you a little sample of my juice, its really smooth. I exclusively vape Backwoods brew applewood @ 12mg. Again I found a juice I like and stuck to it but now I'm ready to come out of my cave and start exploring again. I work at the YMCA on the corner of Parc and St-Viateur, so If you're up to coming my way, I'll fill up a 3ml bottle for you.

Thanks for the tip Lemon, but i think ill be ok. Just switched the juice to the one from mapleleafvape and it seems lot easier on the throat. Still scared to inhale big puffs on it but i can at least inhale some in my throat without coughing, so it's a start. I take long puffs and keep it in my mouth for a second or two, but throw out some before i inhale the rest in the throat.

The vapor production of that juice is surprisingly very low despite a 60VG/40PG, about on par with an analog cigarette, though i dont mind as long as i can vape it. The taste is amazing though.

I took my old ego-t upgrade out after over a year of non-usage and they still have power in them. Doesnt vape as well as the itaste but its good enough. But just curious, what ohm resistance is ideal on the ego-t? Im using the protank right now (2.0 ohm) but i have a Vivi Nova (1.8 ohm) i may use my ego-t with. The protank looks weird on the ego-t.

My itaste is also acting weird so im a bit worried. I turned it on and LED light was red so i put it on the charger and it seems to randomly switch from red to yellow and sometimes green then back to yellow.

Still craving analogs but i think i can make the switch to vaping now:vapor:

m pretty new for the most part, being i got my first variable voltage ego 5 days or so. some guys have said 2.2 coils at 4-4.4 volts..i find with my particular juice (export a 24 mg) i like it best from 3.4 - 3.6.any higher it starts getting abit harsh and anythng 4 up is burnt tasting. try a 2.2 kanger coil at the mid 3's, see if that helps with harshness.

Slowly but surely getting there, i'll copy past what i posted in the new member forum because things are going too fast there and no one will probably notice.

k, i made this thread a while ago so not sure anyone will care about it anymore but i guess it's better then starting a new one. I ended buying an iTaste V3 with a Kanger Protank 3 along with a Vivi Nova. Initially i tried the Protank 3 but was getting the same harsh throat hit, couldnt get used to it, then i tried a different juice with the Vivi Nova and it was much better. I've been on the Vivi Nova for a while and while i haven't completely quit analogs, today i smoked like 8 cigarettes compared to my daily 2 packs and i might've smoked even less if i hadn't gotten that burn taste throughout the day.

The thing is, i came home and decided to clean both tanks and changed their coils (both were burned...) and give the Protank 3 another try, same incredibly harsh throat hit even with a small drag, so i switched the juice over the newly cleaned Vivi Nova and it's a blessing. I can take a nice, warm (8 watts) and long drag and get an almost perfect throat hit and exhale some nice amount of vapor and my throat feels fine. I think i'll get another battery or increase Nic levels because im chain vaping and battery dies after 5 or 6 hours. I noticed however that the Vivi Nova (on the iTaste V3 at least) as a MUCH tighter draw then the Protank 3, which as a very airy one. Can that makes the huge difference in throat hit? How is the draw on the iClear 30s? I want to order it from Canvape but while the site says it's in stock, when i add it to my cart it says it's out of stock, but i won't get it if it's as airy as the Protank 3...

Also, i tried to vape while my itaste was charging in my PC and i can't seem to be able to... I though it was possible on the iTaste?

One last question. (at least for now lol) I currently vape Sweet blueberry at 60VG40PG and 12Nic, if i was to increase Nic levels to 18 and get a 50/50 mix, would it be much of a difference throat hit and flavor wise?

Didn't think it was possible, but i think i may really quit analogs with e-cigs. After spending 9 hours without smoking a tobacco cigarette, they tasted pretty bad. I just wish i could stop chain vaping and find a more stealthy/solid setup to vape while at work.

Edit: And after an hour i already get a burn taste.. what the hell? Ohm reader says 2 ohm and im at 8 watts. I switched to 3.7v and hope it goes away, but i guess the Vivi Nova isn't meant to Chain vape?

Ended up ordering an airflow control thingy for the Protank 3 and an extra glass (current one as half its rubber glued off) Hopefully it makes a difference. Also order some 50/50 juice with 18mg Nicotine.

The higher the nic level will increase TH, also many juices cause throat irritation not to be confused with TH, also type of delivery system, and power used.

Vivi Nova like any top coil clearo needs to be tilted and twirled before each Vape, which makes it easier to chain Vape, also having a second or third device on the go helps greatly.

Your doing fine mate, keep up the good fight.

Thanks for the replies. Thing that i don't understand is that i used the exact same juice on both tanks. Great throat hit on the Nova and decent vapor production. On the Protank 3, irritates my throat a lot and me cough like crazy while there's barely any vapor. Juice tastes a lot better on the Protank 3 though, so it's a bit disappointing that i can't use the Protank 3.

I can't seem to google people with the same issue as me, which makes it even more strange.

I would take the PT3 apart and give it a good cleaning in Vodka, let dry and put bck together without the Flavor wick on the coil below the rubber grommet. See if that helps it wick.

Unfortunately i haven't had time to clean the Protank just yet though i'll try to do it with vinegar as i don't have any alcohol, but the Vivi Nova is great. Just one small issue, i can't screw the Vivi Nova all the way down on the iTaste otherwise the ohm reads at .4 and won't fire up. It's kind of annoying because the tanks wobbles a bit. Is there any fix around it?

Also, i'd like to order this Vivi Nova. Is it the same one as the one i bought (here)? They look different and the drip tip isn't the same at all. Do they use same heads and all?

I went through a few atty heads so far and thinking of rebuilding them. What do people usually use as far as wick and coils? Canvape carries regular sillica and ekowool sillica. But i'm not sure what sizes i shoul get those.

TrueNorthist

I'm sorry, Dave. I'm afraid I can't do that.

It sounds to me like you have not yet found the right wattage/voltage for the attys you are using. Start low and gradually increase until you find the sweet spot. Each atty/carto can be slightly or greatly different, but knowing the resistance beforehand will help you find a good starting point. Juice also factors into this but 8 watts is a decent setting, but will burn many liquids so when trying something new start low then dial it up. Once burned an atty/carto will never vape well again until repaired or replaced.

Is there someone near you who can "show you the ropes"?

Thanks for the tip TrueNorthist (havent had much time to come here). Unfortunately there's no one i know who vapes so im pretty much on my own. I vape the Nova on 8w and the Protank 3 on 4.5v.

Im not sure what i did but the Protank is vaping like a champ now, no more harsh/scratchy throat hit, and my Nova as well. Im trying to finish the 12mg juice that i have as its not strong enough for me i end up chain vaping and can barely feel the vape on inhale. I guess that'll give time for the 18mg batch to steep a bit.

Only weird thing is i can't taste the maple in MLV's maplebacco anymore, i though it was vaper's tongue but even after spending time vaping raspberry on my Nova, still can't taste the maple.

I ended up going on a bit of shopping spree earlier today, i bought an iclear x.1, nautilus and a glass evod along with their replacement coils and some rebuild materials as im down to my last Vivi Nova head. Really can't wait for Vapemail to come in. Haven't smoked for over 2 weeks now and i never though it would be possible. The only cigarette i miss is the first in the morning one, even now.
