I understand that Ethyl Maltol is considered a good sweetener by some (not all), and some say it adds richness to flavors. So I ordered some with my first DIY supplies. My question is how to use it? At what percentage would I add it to a recipe? I believe it comes as crystals, so do I mix it with pg or vg before using it? If so, at what proportion?

Thanks!

There will be instructions on the packet...usually. I do two EM mixes. One is the recommends 1\4 tsp into ten ml of PG...the other is a super saturation that you can fond on lydia's luscious thread. (30Ml bottle with 1/3 the bottle em the rest pg). I use the 1\4 dilution for sweetened tobacco. I used the luscious on its own with nicotine or as a quick method to add more mouthful wetness

In some mixes like fruit mixes I only add a few drops per ml and notice a difference. I have been overusing it though and still don't have a good grasp on how it reacts/adds/takes away from my mixes. I am witholding it now and just mixing my base flavors then let them steep and if I think it needs something, I might add some EM or lemon juice or sour or whatever.

That way I really know if its helping or hurting. I like that term "Mouth Wetness" it really describes what happens if you add more than drops. It also mutes flavors a bit too which can be good or bad depending on the base.
