Hello everyone. Fairly new to vaping. Been enjoying about 3 months and happy to say I have not had a cigarette the entire time.
I started off with a halo triton and about 3 weeks ago stepped up to a Kbox with a couple different tanks, protank 2&3.
I have a few different juices I use with vg/pg ranging from 50/50, 70/30, 75/25.
I purchased a 75vg/25pg juice yesterday and filled up my protank2 with a 2.2ohm coil, vaping it at 8 watts. First few hours of vaping it were excellent. I swapped to a tank with a different juice for a bit then went back to the 75vg juice, and now I get one or two good pulls but then on the third i get a burnt taste.
Is the higher VG juice not soaking into the wicks as good? I don't have that issue with the other juice I use which is 70vg.
Any advice or tips would be much appreciated. Is there a better tank for juices with higher VG? I love my Kbox and going to pick me up a couple subtanks next week.

The higher the VG ratio is, the thicker it is. Most clearomizers use fiberglass (Silica)type wick which just doesn't wick as well as cotton. I'm surprised it worked at first.

I agree that a Kangertech Subtank with a 1.2ohm coil would be your next step.

Trying that 75vg juice in my protank 3 right now, seems to perform a lot better than in the 2. What material do the dual coils use for wicks. Noticed there was no material sticking out of the side of the heads like on the single coil heads.

They still use silica, but with dual coils on the Protank 3, more wicking area = more juice.

Being a JonJ myself I feel compelled to respond to your post. To truly elevate your experience I suggest getting the new subox starter kit. The latest subtank mini included has the improvements to vape any ratio of PG/VG without dry hits occurring. Chain vaping has no effect. The mod has 1W variability and plug in pass thru vape charging. Your Kbox can serve as backup or as a beater box you take to work if you do construction like myself. Congrats on not smoking and it just gets better from here. Happy Holiday Vaping!

Us Jon's have to stick together right haha. Yeah i'm s field service technician and work in construction settings quite a bit.
Before I bought the Kbox was actually also considering the Subox. I will definitely be purchasing one in the near future. My main interest in sub ohm vaping is that i've heard the flavor is better, while big clouds are kinda cool not my primary focus.
I'm mostly digging vaping as it's keeping me off cigarettes. I smoked 2-3 packs a day and got sick of literally burning money and not being able to breathe. Been off cigs for 3 months and in that time i've stepped down from 24mg nic to 6mg, i do have one bottle of juice that is only 3mg. Goal is to get to zero.
Really into trying new flavors since I got the kbox, have a couple RY4s I reall like along with a vanilla and the Marilyn from pinup vapors. Haven't tried any fruity flavors yet. Would really like to find an Irish Cream e liquid if anyone has any suggestions.

The Subox is awesome. I've been raving about it since I got it. I even bought the black/red, and the black/white one. Flavor is really great. The kit included just about everything, except the battery and charger. I've been sub-ohming at 0.74 and never a dry hit...even chain vaping some of the new flavors I got.
BTW, i'm using max VG juice with it too

Should i be changing my Kangertech coils maybe once a week after using a high VG ratio?
I wouldn't change them so long as they are working and they don't taste burnt. What for? Taking them out every few days and soaking the coil heads in alcohol, letting them dry and reinstalling helps to clean them, too.

SUPRTRKR:

Clean them with regular rubbing alcohol instead??? then let them dry after that and use them?? or soak them in water after the alcohol bath, let them dry, then use???? When changing Juices, I clean out my tank(s), insert a cleaned coil and add juice & Vape away. But i always cleaned coils by running them under cool water, blowing through it then soaking it in clean water overnight. Then dry it for a few days before using it. Any advice on this is greatly appreciated. I'm still a noob when it comes to certain things concerning e-cigs.

Please look at my thread regarding my itaste 134 that's not working properly if you think you could offer any assistance.. Thanks again.
