I've seen a ton of research about the safety of various e-liquid ingredients (PG/VG etc), however is there any research on the safety of menthol in some flavors? I'm just curious if it has any effect on lung function etc.

I'm not sure on the menthol. I did use it in my juice when I first started vaping a couple years ago and it was fine. Now I cut my juice 50/50 with peppermint oil from GNC. I have been doing this for quite a while and have had no issues and a really good mint/menthol taste to my juice. I hope it helps some!

I find I like the pepper mint more than the menthol. Which is a shame because I got a ton of the menthol crystals for making my own shave oil. When I used them I just dropped a crystal in the juice and it dissolved. I never put in much.
I've haven't done any DIY stuff yet, but with the menthol starting out as crystals, wouldn't it stand to reason that vaping it could cause it to crystalize in your body?
No it will not re-crystalize once in the body, and it is safe to inhale also, refer to the safety product sheets for example on vicks vaporub or other topical or inhalation menthol based products, even muscle pain topical ointments/gels/cremes have menthol that get absorbed topically and by inhalation on use, and the menthol flavorings are also safe based on using the same chemicals in juices that are used for the before mentioned products and applications. Sleep (and breath) easy lol
