Yea, I would just start out w/ one drop, those pilot carts are pretty small. When I top off I just use 1 drop at a time. It shouldn't hurt your atomizer at all, it's what their made for. You might wanna puff on the cart a lil bit first to drain it a bit or ya might get some liquid in your mouth. Enjoy your new pilot, it's a great e ciggy:)

If you don't mind mixing flavors that works fine. If you want to get rid of the old flavor remove the cartridge from the mouthpiece & remove the stuffing. Wash a few secs. under running water & squeeze dry in a paper towel. I like to let mine air dry as well. Blow in atomizer from battery end into towel to remove old liquid. Replace stuffing & drip in new flavor then replace cart. Just make sure you don't leave a big pool of liquid floating on top. I also drip 1 or 2 drops of the e-juice on the atomizer before using. Let sit a few mins to absorb & you're good to go.

Also, is dripping e-liquid on the atomizer what they call 'drip smoking'

Yup. But some people will talk about how they drip a few drops before vaping, and what they're actually talking about is dripping onto the cartridge to top it off so that it "smokes" like a new cartridge. :)

I do drip smoke my DSE 901. Very easy to do and much stronger sensation. However, I do it fully knowing that dripping directly on the atomizer may shorten the life of the atomizer. (I've heard different accounts on that one.)

Also, some people will put a few drops directly on the atomizer when they're starting off with a new or newly cleaned atomizer. It's not a good idea to vape with a totally dry atomizer.

What difference do you see on the time the atomizer lasts while dripping?

just a quick first impression, i just got mine as well, puff a few times, and get some Glycerine or Vegetable Glycerine, and add a couple drops to your cart. i'm getting much better vapor and a slightly smoother feel. that's just first impression, i literally just did it, so not sure if it will continue :) the "word on the street" is that it does help though.

well, there are other posts with more info from more experienced people about these, but i will say it has taken some time to sortof...loosen it up. like, when i first started using it, the vapor was a little thin, but now after a day or so it is starting to work better. are you using a fresh cart or dripping? the fresh cart is working for me.

We should be clear on something. The "vapor production" of an e-cig is not entirely related to the atomizer...It's also related to the liquid you're using.

With my evo / pilot atomizers I get really good vapor from most of the REPUTABLE (read : Not Johnson Creek) liquids I use and mega-fog when I cut with glycerin.

I did a video for another thread which shows the difference between cut and uncut juice...I'll post it here, as well.

YouTube - Straight E-liquid VS E-liquid cut with glycerin

Now, vapor production is also a function of the atomizer, as we know. If the atomizer isn't getting hot enough to vaporize the PG in the liquid, you won't get any vapor.

If you're using the standard carts, though, it could be those. As for the Riskee Yuice, I've never tried it so I don't know how it performs. I guess that'll have to be my next order so I can do a proper video review of it.
