If the carto is clogged or will not fire straight out of the box then it's not going to matter if it's in a tank or not. The difference between a defective carto out of the box and a defective clearo head out of the box is that I can fix the clearo head instead of just having to toss it.

1. I've never had a clogged carto in a tank. Unless someone tries to put 30 ml of eliquid into a carto, I don't see how that would happen.

2. Because there are occasional DOA cartos (just like all vaping parts) does not answer the question about maintenance on tank cartos because there is no maintenance with a tank carto set-up.

The fact is, tank-cartos are maintenance free. Clearos are not by a long shot. Tank cartos have a consistent medium to tight draw. Most clearos have an airy draw. So if you like an airy draw and like to fuss and fiddle, using a clearo is the way to go. If you want to just vape with no maintenance, a tank carto is the better option.

Some may prefer the taste or draw of a clearo, that I could understand. But when it comes to maintenance, the tank carto is definitely maintenance free in comparison to a clearo.

Thanks for the reply yo419g0tamin, but since I never used carto tanks. I was thinking of buying only the tank, and order some different brands of cartos so I can see which ones I like best (from another store). I just need to know what's the size of ibtanked's standard tanks so I can find which cartos I can use with it. =)

35mm standard tank
45mm xl tank

I posted this graphic earlier in the thread, but you must have missed it. The vast majority of cartotanks will be either a standard or an XL length. This graphic will show which carto fits which tank by brand and name.

I'm afraid that your statements regarding maintenance requirements, and draw for the current generation of Clearomizers is womewhat ourdated.

Most bottom coil clearomizers are much easier to maintain than a DCT or carto tank. I can change the coil in an EVOD, Protank, Or iSmoka BCC and be vaping again in less than a minute, WITHOUT removing any of the juice still in the tank!. You cannot possibly replace a dead cartomizer in a half full tank, in that amount of time. As for draw, it's as variable as the devices themselves and the mods they are installed on. A protank is pretty airy. but an iSmoke BCC has a sealed positive pin, and even on a standard eGo battery has a tighter draw, closer to the cartos you refer to...

So your statement,"So if you like an airy draw and like to fuss and fiddle, using a clearo is the way to go. If you want to just vape with no maintenance, a tank carto is the better option." is misleading at best.
