Question about the car adapter

I took my grandkids home last week 3 hr trip one way and thought it would be great to vape with my pass thru and the car adapter I couldnt get the pt to work ..Glad I had my pcc with me

The pt works great with my puter but not the adapter ...The lite comes on but no luck it seems to charge the pcc but cant really tell it was fully charged when I left

Steve gave me the adapter as a bonus so I am not looking for a replacement as it was free but was wondering if anyone else has had this problem

Howdy Tyboh. The earlier ones given out will not work with the passthrough. They can charge your devices but do not put out enough power for the PT. There was a mistake in the order from China and they sent Steve a bunch of these. He passed them out as bonuses while he awaited the right ones. If the one you have says it is rate at 200ma then you got one of these. On his site they are in the supersale section and indicate what they will and won't work for. The new ones are available now and in the accessories section and they will work with the PT as well as charge your pcc and batteries.

Hi Tom! The adapter you have works for charging in the car, and works on the passthrough for some, but not for all. The new one he has on the website for $8 should work for everyone, it is higher voltage. I am definately going to get me one!!!!

Hmmm, that's odd. I have two of that same model and they work fine for passthrough purposes. Maybe it's not putting out enough voltage?

I have an extra one I'd be glad to send you, if you want to try a different one to check.

I actually ordered the 5V 1000ma car adapter for use with the pass through but received the 200ma adapter. I now have 2 of these 200ma adapters and neither one will power the pass through.

I emailed V4L and I'm sure they will fix me up on my next order.

In the mean time...
If your electrically inclined you can modify the 200ma adapter to power the pass through. Solder a 2 ohm resistor across R1 on the circuit board. This will bump the output current up and should allow you to use the pass through without issue. Make sure you use 1/4W resistor.
