8 Wraps of 26g Kanthal with cotton. It's a smooth, cool, flavorful vape but it does take a couple seconds to heat up but is there any danger in this build? Using a fresh MNKE. I usually use 26g and only do 6 wraps but I figured more surface area would help with flavor and vapor. Is this a safe vape? (Other than it being a micro coil itself)

It all depends on the coil ID (inner diameter). For example: with a 1/16" ID = ~ 0.42 ohms for single coil, perfectly fine for an MNKE. 1/16" ID, dual coil = ~ 0.21; theoretically you're drawing ~ 20 amps which is right at the MNKE rating, but it's also rated at 60 amps for a pulse. Personally I don't build that low for an MNKE, maybe 0.25 - 0.24-ish. Quad coils, nope defiantly not recommended, you'll be in the ~ 0.11 range.

This is all supposing 6 wraps of 26 awg kanthal a-1, 1/16" coil ID and ~ 1.5mm legs. if you increase the coil ID the resistance will also go up, but you really need a good multimeter or 'ohm checker' with a 510. The only way to be sure of your coil resistance is to actually measure it.

Have you measured the resistance? If it's a single coil you might be looking at .4-5 ohms maybe (assuming you're using a 1/16 ID or bigger), dual would be half that. The MNKE has 20a continuous and 60a burst (I think, I'm pretty sure it does) so you'd be within the specs of the battery. It's "safe" since your battery can handle it. I use quotes because safe is used pretty loosely sometimes lol.
