Hello everyone,

Just bought a Vapor King, and I LOVE IT!, I gotta hand it to their customer support and shipping times, very nice people and overall I'm pleased to move away from analogs.

My main question which I'd like to hear from everyone else about is in regards to the throat hit I get from smoking the e-cig. I currently am on a 24mg cartomizer and I've tried about 4 of the sample flavors so far, they're great, but I get this intense fuzzy, itchy, cough inducing sensation in my throat as I'm smoking. Is this normal?, does it go away after a while?, or is this sensation dependent on the nicotine levels or flavors?.

Is there any flavors anyone can recommend which offer a smooth, clean pull, or am I just a wuss who needs to get used to it lol.

Thanks in advance, looking forward towards being part of this community! :)

Yes.

Does it go away after a while?
You get more used to it.

Or is this sensation dependent on the nicotine levels or flavors?
Yes, it very much is dependent on both.

Is there any flavors anyone can recommend which offer a smooth, clean pull, or am I just a wuss who needs to get used to it lol.
Vaping juice is like a box of chocolates...

You might want to look liquids with more VG to reduce throat hit as well.

Makes sense, it does feel more like a dry itchy sensation now that you mention it.

And I actually use to drink tons of stuff when I was smoking Camel Filters (I hate the taste of cigarettes, I just wanted the nicotine buzz), so in that respect it wont be too much difference. I did what you said immediately after my first few puffs and grabbed a glass of water as I found that helped.

How long did it take for you get acclimated to the throat hit?. And also, does VG produce the same results?

Also I forgot to ask, and I know this is going to sound really silly consider I used to smoke analog cigarettes, but is that throat hit in any way harmful to your throat?, or is it purely a sensation.

Sorry for the rapid fire newbie questions, this is all quite new to me. I read alot before I bought my e-cig about the "throat hit" but I thought it was the exact equivalent sensation to an analog.

Oh snap, I totally didn't even notice it, my bad! :(

That pretty much answers my question haha, I just got off the phone with customer support and they pretty much said the same thing, wish I noticed your post before hand.

They said that drinking extra water really helps (which isn't a bad thing really lol), and that I would get used to it with time.

Thank you for your help, much appreciated :)

Cig smoke contains a bunch of chemical to make the smoke easier on your throat - to compare with real smoke breathe near a bonfire - that scratchy irritation is what it would feel like if smoke wasn't treated. Vapor is equally irritating, but comes without the tar and other stuff, so you'll need to get used to it and, yes, drink a heap more fluid. In fact your fluid intake should be MORE than when you smoked as, although there IS PG in cigs, its not as much as in ejuices; and is therefore more drying.
Also the nic levels can affect the TH (or throat feeling);personally I'm finding now that I need a lot LESS TH (which would mean less nic) as my throat is really happier without so much OOMPH :)

I find the throat hit largely depends on the nicotine content...

24MG can even make me cough if I'm not mindful of how much I intake...

18 is generally smoother & 11MG is really lite - almost reminiscent of a hooka...

I prefer 24MG as it's closest to an actual cigarette feel...

I'm 50 days now with no analog cigs smoked, so whatever keeps this train a-runnin'! For now, I'm sticking with 24MG...

did you blow out the atomizer before firing it up?

Well, it's a cartomizer so I'm not sure if that's necessary, but if you recommend it I suppose I can give it a shot. I've noticed over the course of a few hours, casually using it has really toned down the amount which I notice the throat hit. I imagine over time it will diminish even more.

The fluid intake certainly helped as well :)

For those of you who don't know yet what flavor or nicotine strength would suite you best, go to StrictlyEjuice.com, Flavor Shop! and check out their 3ml bottles for $2.10 each. These come in all their flavors and strengths. Select a half dozen bottles (anything over 5 will get you free shipping) of various flavors and strengths.

Also, check out their blue foam plugs located under "Accessories" for a cart mod.

Drop a few drop of juice on your atty's wick then vape w/o inhaling, drip a big more, vape vape vape...some atty's ship with a primer that tastes bad. OR you can just take out that stupid wick. There's a tutorial on here somewhere it's really easy. Also I started using English toffee juice I got at cignot. It's really smooth. But I think your atty just needs to be broken in.

a cartomizer is a little different as the atty is built into the cartridge - there is no need to blow out the primer fluid as there isn't any :)
As for TH in most cases it is a combination of nic strength and flavor. For me I've found that if I hold the vapor in my mouth before I inhale it helps.
VG and PG will both dehydrate your body so drink plenty of water, caffeinated beverages won't help as they dehydrate the body too!
