I had a brand new cartomizer for my 510, and decided to try this method of filling it. I at first did not measure, or count drops. I filled the endcap up halfway, and inserted battery end until it reached the bottom of the cap. Then i saw a video here where they reccomended filling from the mouthpiece end instead showing what to look for as to when to stop. So, I measured 5 drops into the cap, and inserted the mouthpiece end. Never saw any liquid at the battery end, so I repeated. I did this a total of 3 times, or a total of 15 additional drops. I still never saw any liquid at the battery end. I guess I should do it once more, but if my estimate of my first try is 15 drops or so, then i have already put in about 30 drops. i didn't think these cartomizers even had this capacity. They aren't mega-cartomizers, btw.

So what it comes down to, is what capacity is normal for a brand new cartomizer?

when doing it from the mouth end, remember the plastic piece holds liquid back, so there is liquid not in the filler. Do it enough and you will see it spit out the battery end.

so from the mouth end ----you need to turn the carto over every 1/2 cap, so the mouth end is facing up for a few seconds to let the liquid drop ino the filler. look at where you tipped the carto over for a wet spot (drainage out of the battery end = full or nearly full).

from the battery end----- drainage from the battery end means its fill too. if you see liquid coming out the mouth piece...you are way way over full since there is a gap between the filler in the carto and the mouth piece. you are also coating the battery connector with liquid which will cause poor performance from the carto, so clean the threads good.

Thanks. After filling I did set it with the mouthpiece up which is the way I always have stored them. i did notice that the end cap now does have juice in it so i did indeen over fill it. I may stick to the batter end, or just fill with the original drip method. Fortunately I have a sealed battery, but I will take extra care to make sure the threads are clean.
