Ya'll done pushed me off the fence I've been straddling for so long, planning on taking Provape up on the New Years sale tomorrow.
I swear.
ECF is the epitome of "Den of Enablers" and damned if the Provari forum isn't the main seat of said enablers!

Anyhoo..... question directed primarily towards the longer term Provari owners.

Have any of you purchased the extended warranty and actually used it?

OK sue me, 2 questions.

Have any of you not purchased the extended warranty and wished you had?

I have a 1.5 yr old blue v2.0 standard Provari and a 9 month old black v2.5 Mini Provari. Never had an issue with either one. I chose not to purchase the extended warranty.

I did my research prior to purchasing my first and found that there are very few owners that have problems with their Provari, and even fewer who need to send them in to Provape for repair. Since Provari's have such a great track record and considering that even if an after-warranty repair is needed and that the repair costs are so reasonable, I couldn't justify paying $25 for the second year warranty. No regrets.

Standard After-Warranty Service Repair Costs:

Replace Window and screws- $10.00
Replace Circuit Board - $65.00
Upgrade to V2 - $20.00
Replace plastic pushbutton - $5.00
Repairs to the circuit board - $25.00
Cleaning - $20.00
Replace top cap - $15.00
Broken Cartomizer Service - $10.00
Return shipping within the USA - $5.00

I did not, for three reasons -
a) Such a reputation for build quality
b) Realistically, a year from now, I may well be as interested in a new model as a replacement/repair if I DID have a failure
c) Most important probably - the OUT of warranty repair costs and response seem so good. It's not like some digital devices where replacement is cheaper than a repair...

That's right where I'm at Baditude, reading the Provari forum for several years has been my research (-:

I've never purchased an extended warranty on any other purchase but given the track record of so many other PV battery holder/power systems I just had to put it out there (-:

More input folks, more!

I have 4 provari's, 2 are the satin silver, 1 full size and 1 mini, I did buy the extended warranty for these 2. These I carry around all day at work, and while I try to take care of them, ___t happens, so I got the warranty on them. My other 2 are both polished, 1 mini & 1 full sized, and these are mostly used at home or in my car, and I don't usually carry them around, unless I want to show them off. so I did not get the warranty on them. It for me anyway, was what kind of conditions, it was going to be exposed to, helped me in that decision.

My first ProVari has about 6 weeks warranty left on it. I never used it (the warranty, that is). The 2nd one I bought about a month later. It has the 2 year warranty on it because my husband whined until I put it on there. The 3rd one is a couple of months old to me. I bought it off the classifieds and don't really know it's age. It is a v2.5 however. Really, it doesn't bother me that it has no warranty.

So far, the one with the most wear on it from taking it to work at a factory every day has the longest warranty on it.

I think today, I would not get the extended warranty if I were purchasing directly from ProVape.

How long have ya had those Provaris kas?

I ordered my first full sized satin one, on 6-29-2013. After I had my first one, I realized that I wanted the mini in satin also, but I also wanted the polished versions of both sizes. So I ordered my other 3, on 9-27-2013, so not really a long time, but I started vapeing in April, I guess it took me 3 months to get to provari. :)
