Shanagan I have a problem with high triglycerides. My doctor tried to explain to me how Vegetable glycerine is converted by the body into a simple sugar - which might explain why my triglycerides shot up after a month of vaping VG.
I don't quite understand how it all works but I wonder if it might be of some consequence to many people, including diabetics.
Anyway, just thought I'd mention it.

I'm kind of puzzled at the moment because it seems I am two weeks late with my period.
The ONLY time I've ever skipped a cycle was when I was pregnant.
Just had my hormone levels tested recently too (just before my last period) and apparently everything was completely normal and I had ovulated that month - despite feeling like a hormonal nutcase!
I'm 43. My husband had a vasectomy 12 years ago but only just informed me that he never went back to have his sperm count checked. Whaaaaat?
I'm REALLY hoping this is just messed up hormones from quitting smoking.
Heavy painful periods are one thing but not getting one at all is a bit....odd?

I can't really attest to 14 days late, but mine was 5 days late....PMS arrived earlier (and more aggressive) and once here, it lasted 2 days longer than normal. After reading some of the info posted I do think it's the quitting analogs that causes some havoc. Interesting note on the VG and triglycerides. I vape mostly PG (70PG/30VG). Keep us posted!

You know, now that I'm reading this, a huge lightbulb just went off. I started vaping in february. PG liquids. PG has antibacterial qualities. I have had chronic bacterial imbalance in my vajayjay. They went away about two weeks ago, when I started mixing half PG half VG. I have a homeopathic treatment that I use a day or two each week, but I haven't had to use it lately. Hmm. I wonder...

I haven't seen any reaction but i am.post menstrual. i was just wondering the age of the person who started this post. Now I am not saying that isn't something wrong or that it may be pg vg related. It is just that people have a tendancy to blame the pg vg before they figure out waht si wrong . My best advice would be to talk to your doctor and ask his advice it may very well be the pg vg or it could be that all that smoking is getting out of your system and that may be the cause of your problems. Another thing, and this is why I ask about the age, is that you could be getting ready to go through the change and this is just a coincendence. You can go through the change early. I sure did.

There could be other reasons for painful cycles. Medical reasons. I havent read all the posts, but I would have a gynecologist check things out. I have complex ovarian cysts, very thick uterine lining, and uterine fibroids (one rather large one on the backside of my uterus)...so my cycles are painful, very heavy and extremely irregular to begin with. I also have pain during ovulation. I go in on the 28th for a davinci hysterectomy (removing everything). I am 40. There could be a number of reasons that just happen to have started at the same time you started vaping.

Hey Ladies -
For me personally - my issues had nothing to do with vaping. I had issues for a few months before I started vaping. In this last instance, it was quitting smoking and the change in my body (weight loss - big change in water intake) more than anything. The two things were unrelated actually, but I had been reading a month or so prior to even thinking about an ecig that a number of things can cause painful periods. Weight, smoking and dehydration were a few of the things. I'm 48. Also, I used Progesterone shots for birth control for many, many years. I remember my doc telling me it could result in early meno. I'm pretty sure peri-meno is really possible for me. In my circle of gf's (all around the same age +/- 4 years) we are all in the same boat - some struggling worse than others. But again, I don't attribute any of this to vaping. It's the quitting analogs IMHO.

I am glad to hear that most problems seem to be related to things other than vaping!! What a huge relief for me, as I don't want to ever give up my most enjoyable habit!!! I am 33 redheadone, I thought about possibly being pre-menopausal, but I have no baseline to work with, as my mother had her hysterectomy after having me, so hers naturally started early, and my grandmother was still bleeding at 80 (due to synthetic hormones), and took around 10 years to finally get over all of it. I am waiting for my sister to start, as she is 6 years older, and may give me a time frame to work with on that matter. I don't envy any of you going through "The Change", sure, I would love to not have periods anymore, no more pain, etc, but I do not want to be having hot flashes, night sweats, and generally always a witch to everyone either!!

Yeah I agree Blue. It's not the vaping as such it's the physiological and maybe equally as important the psychological shock of giving up cigarettes. A huge change for both body and mind to adjust to.
Well, I'm going away for a few days. Hopefully Murphy's law will make it that it kicks my cycle back into gear while I'm away having fun.

I am 48 & have noticed very painful cycles recently, but they have nothing to do with my vaping, started almost a yr after...it's 100% peri meno.

One side effect I did have that I link right back to too much nic was duct ectasia, it was very painful & if you google, nicotine is a common trigger for it. I was vaping higher than 36 mg at the time. Round of anti-biotics & a cut in the nic, all was well...

Eh, I'm 45 and it's almost over for me, 2 more months (please, please, please) and I'll be fully postmenopausal. I only realized I was having hot flashes about 5 months after they started. I would get so damn hot all of the sudden and couldn't figure out why. Then it occurred to me, you DOPE these are HOT FLASHES! I've had night sweats nearly my entire adult life, so that was no big deal for me either. As for my mood, my husband will tell you I'm always a witch , but seriously I think I've actually gotten nicer. It took 8 years from start to finish. All in all, it's lovely to be over the whole thing at 45.

No doubt, Sallie, I can't imagine 8 years of it!! Sometimes I wish they would discover the menopause acceleration wonder drug, where you take it for a month after you start, and then you are done!! They seem to have drugs for everything else anymore! Not that I'd take it, I'd be too worried of the possible "your colon will fall out" type of "side effects" it would have. I don't take prescription meds unless I absolutely have to. I just don't trust them and never believed that pharmaceutical companies had human health at the forefront of their developments. I am still waiting for them to prove me wrong on that theory.

Glad to hear you are through with it, congratulations, you lucky lady! I am very fearful of it, I guess it's the fear of the unknown since I have no idea how it will be for me.

This has been true for me as well (hormones going haywire). I feel like quitting smoking threw me into peri-menopause. My PMS symptoms (physical and emotional) started getting much worse and my periods started getting heavier and closer together. It could just be coincidence, of course (I'm in my early 40s), but the timing was certainly suspect. If smoking can affect hormones, I guess it makes sense that quitting smoking would also affect our hormones.

This describes EXACTLY what happened to me during peri-menopause. At age 48,I had to have a hysterectomy/oophorectomy for other reasons and went on estrogen therapy immediately. OMG what a huge relief to have that part of my life over with!

Well, an update for any who may be struggling, I just got my little "friend" today, and didn't expect it for another couple of days. I took some nsaids Monday, just to get ahead of the game. I also took some when I ran off to work Tuesday. My menstruation started at work. I had no idea, a little pain, but I am used to that a few days before hand. Otherwise, thus far, I have had no issues, no extreme pain, no tailbone issues, etc. I think I even have less pain than I would on any normal cycle. I am crossing my fingers that I am through the worst, and that it only gets better from now on. If anything changes, I will post an update. I am assuming, for now, that I was just all out of whack from ceasing smoking.
Good luck to all of you, Ladies!
