Hey there. I'm looking to getting me a new tank or a few of them rather. I'm liking the sound of the vivi nova and its replaceable coil heads. Theres just one problem. All of my batts are 808 threaded (V4L diamond series batts to be exact.) and the vivi nova is threaded for 510.

So obviously to use it im going to need an adapter. What I'm wondering... Are there any sort of considerations to made when considering buying an adapter other than making sure you get the right conversion? Does it make the connection to my tank or cart weaker? will it drain the batt faster?

I really wanna get this tank but i dont really want to complicate what i've got goin right now. I'm a simple vaper and i just want to screw on a tank and vape it. I'm not into mods or DIY or vv batts or anything like that.

You know i just looked and i couldnt find anything on the mah of the batteries they just give u battery life in hours. They have a short battery, a regular battery and an xl battery. the short last about (according to v4l) 1-2 hours and the regular is 3-5 hours and the xl is 8+ hours.

I currently have 1 regular auto and 1 regular manual, a short manual and an xl manual so i dont think the auto not working on the adapter will be a factor for me.

Also Mroutlaw I've watched some of your videos on youtube and you've got some great info man i really appreciate that. Would you happen to know anything about the vivi nova? I'm looking into getting it because i recently got some 100% VG juice and i fear i'm going to be burning through the replaceable cartos on my V4L tanks. Any advice there?

If you want to use adapters you should know that some are very cheaply made,
while others may be a little more pricey the quality is much better.

If you really want to get the most out of a vivi the best advice I could give would be to invest 15 to 20 bucks in at least a 900-1100mah ego battery for it.

It's unfortunate you've ruled out vv as the 1000mah twist could really make the vivi
shine. It would've been my first suggestion for you

Cheers:vapor::vapor:

The only reason i dont want a vv battery is because all of the ones I've seen are approx the size of handgun silencers lol. I'd like to stick with more cig style batteries. also about the ego. i ordered one a few days ago and it should be at my house tomorrow. I got it from v4l and im not quite sure what the mah is but i here a lot of good things about them.

First, I have a video on the vivi nova on the volt x2, which is 808.

The v4l batteries are 180mah, 280mah and 380mah. They also use 3.0ohm cartos. If you figure the run times they are claiming, it is based on taking one two second puff each minute.

If you use lower ohms, the battery life will go down. I would not use anything lower than 2.6 - 2.8ohms on the 180mah battery and nothing lower than 2.4-2.6 on the standard and Xl batteries. Just remember, it will significantly reduce battery life from the 3.0ohm cartos. Of course, you will get a lot more vapor and flavor. Just to give you an idea. Just so you have an idea, on a 2.5ohm carto, you will get about 3 hours of vaping on the standard battery and 4 hour on the Xl.

The vivi nova is way too big for the mini batteries. Your better choice would be the bottom coil ce3 from smokeless image. You get even better flavor and vapor than with the vivi nova. The only advantage of the vivi is how much juice that can be held and that they are rebuildable. Personally, the rebuilding is not worth it unless you are recoiling them yourself.

Check out my video on the ce3. They last much longer than a carto, can be cleaned, and are a decent price. A pack of 5 is $10 from SI and there is a 15% off coupon.

I wouldn't get an ego. Get a smokeless image X2, a kgo or a ego twist, the standard ego is only 3.3-3.4v. You will be very disappointed in the vapor production coming off a 3.7v battery. The SI x2 and kgo are both 3.7v. The ego twist is a nice device that is the same width, but a little longer. For the ego twist, check out altsmoke. They have the best prices I have seen. $26 for a 1000 mah ego twist and there is a 10% coupon somewhere

ok i got my ego this morning. so far im happy with it. these mega carts are HUGE lol. they hold more juice than my tanks. so far its giving me great vapor. about the same as i was getting before. I ordered 2 vivi novas last night and 2 adapters so they should be here in 2-5 days.

About my ego batteries. Does anyone know more about them. I know Mroutlaw recommended that i not get one but at that point i had already ordered the kit about 4 days ago (sorry hehe) I dont know much about batteries yet so im not sure if this is a standard ego or what kind it is (i know its not a twist or a vv one.) But if someone would like to look at it for me and give me any thoughts (ive tried and couldnt come up with anything) i got it from v4l.com and when you shop their products on the left hand side its under OEM. Thank you.

Is this what you got?

EGO Kit with 2 Batteries, 5 5ml Dual Coil Mega Cartomizers, and 1 Slim Charger - OEM - Shop Our Products | Vapor4Life

If so, it looks like you found an eGo with 808 threading. It's not unheard of, just a rather rare bird.

The dual coils will drain your batteries faster, because it's trying to heat TWO coils. It would be better for your battery life overall if you went with something that's SINGLE coil, but that's going to be difficult to find in an 808 threading. I'll keep looking.

Well crap! It won't let me link directly to the starter kit! Did you get the one with 5- 5ml dual coil cartomizers?

I'm not familiar with all of their products, but V4L does have their own subforum.

'Looks' like a standard type ego battery that's KR808 threaded. The Go-Go, IGO, Echo also makes or used to make 808 threaded ego batteries.

I was happy with a similiar pv. I used one for a year and was able to quit smoking using one. Everyone tends to think the pv they have and the one that helped them quit is the best one out there. It is. For them. But it doesn't mean that others aren't good too. Particularly if they haven't tried one.

Yup that's what i got ^_^ Yeah I've heard that dual coil will drain my battery faster, but im ok with that. I've not noticed it being too much larger of a drain that it bothers me and I've experienced better vapor from the them over the single coil.

But contrary to what i said yesterday. I dont mind the size of this battery one bit. I'm probably going to get a vv battery somewhere down the road.

Their site doesn't say much. It may not be an actual joye ego. That would be good. The joye is the one that is only 3.4v. Ego itself stands for the threading. It's possible that it's like a kgo or the volt x2.

Do your v4l cartos fit on it? (is the inside threading 808)

If you have a multimeter you could check to find out the voltage on a full charge.

One thing though. Make sure you don't use that dual coil carto on the small batteries, it will fry them. You may still want to try the ce3. It gives more vapor than a dual coil and is easier on the battery. A 1.5 dual coil is actually two 3ohm coils. So could also get the same affect with a single 2.0-2.4ohm carto. The vivi nova will help be better and easier on your battery too

I'd like to applaud you guys out there that quit smoking using a pv. Me, I havent had an analogue in 2 years. I quit cold turkey as per a deal with my wife that if i did i would be allowed to purchase star craft 2 when it came out lol. Man it was rough but i eventually made it through, a pv would have been nice about then. The whole reason i started vaping was because when i did smoke a truly enjoyed everything about it except the way it made me smell afterwards and all of the adverse health effects. About a month ago i found myself feeling the urge to smoke again and it kept getting stronger and stronger. I was curious about vaping and after doing some research I decided it was probably the thing for me. I get to "smoke" again but now its not unhealthy and i actually get compliments on how i make a room smell when i vape : )

The V4L site says this battery is supposed to be about 4.3 volts after a full charge and yeah it is 808 threaded. The thread, mah and voltage is what attracted me to it because everything i have is from v4l and all 808 thread. The batteries that i have been using (now thanks to you guys i know are "slim style") would only last me a couple of hours before i need to switch to another one. I think with how i vape i fully deplete 3 manual batteries a day. (one of each size (short, reg and xl)) so the idea that this kit was going to send me 2 900mah batts sounded amazing. plus the 5 mega cartos and charger. (now i can charge to batts at once yay!)

Perfect, I can recommend a lot now. It's the same battery as the volt x2. You can use any 808 or ego specific threaded clearo or carto. It is 4.3v at full charge an then quickly goes to 3.7v for most of the charge.

Here are some things you can use that I personally like on my x2.

Volt x2 clearos
T2 ego 2.4ml with replaceable heads (sold at altsmoke for $5)
Phoenix 3ml bottom coil
Vivi nova 2.5 (requires 808-510 adapter)

Ce3, either si version or Phoenix

Awesome! It's great to know that I finally have a decent battery and wont need to shop around for awhile now. I got 2 of the vivi nova's coming in the mail and 2 adapters. I currently use 3 of the smaller tanks that V4L sells. They are 808 threaded and contain a dual coil WOW cartomizer. Those have been workin pretty decent for me so far but they have difficulty on my 100% VG juice that I tried to use in them. Hopefully the vivi nova fixes that for me.

Thanks for all the help and support guys!
