Im super excited.....it has been exactly one month since I walked into the local vape shop here, bought my little ego starter kit, and haven't smoked a real cigarette since! I'm amazed and I have no intention of ever smoking again. I started smoking at 14 (Marlboro lights 100s). The lady who sold me my first ego kit asked how much I smoked and recommended I get 18mg juice. So ive been vaping 18mg the entire month. I pretty much chain vape until I notice I've had too much (nausea), then I stop for awhile. I also have uPgraded to an ego twist in the last couple of weeks.

Im planning to get an MVP2 in two weeks and I can't wait! Would that be the best time for me to step down to 12mg nic? I don't want to cut down too fast but I figured it might balance out Since I will have a more turbo device when I get the mvp, I Don't want to end up just going thru more juice to compensate though. Does anyone have any advice? How long did u wait to adjust your nic levels?

Congrats on your monthaversary of not smoking :)

I personally haven't altered my nicotine levels: but I'd say the answer when to drop is down to you, when you get your turbo device do you or do you not want to drop the levels down a bit?

If the answer is "yes I'm ready" then get a lower nicotine juice maybe 12mg and prehaps try it first to see if it works out, but if your answer is like mine "not ready for that step yet" then stick with 18mg until you are ready :)

I waited almost a full year. But could have much earlier I think.
I went from 16 down to 10. Bought a couple 6mg bottles a couple weeks ago, and those were fine too. Next time I mix, I'll probably make them at 8mg maybe even 6mg.

If you are giving yourself nausea from vaping, I'd try cutting back already. Just keep some 18mg on hand in case it was too soon.

I personally went to 12 mg from 18 after one month. Just said to myself... "Do it". I was a pack a day American Spirit smoker. I have been chain vaping since I started because I love it. When I decreased, didn't notice a difference.
I am getting ready to re-order my favorite juices and will be going 6mg.
Go for the decrease but maybe keep some 18mg around if you feel you may want it

I started out on 24mg and stuck with that for a couple months. I dropped down to 18mg and stuck with that for at least 6 months. Down to 12mg and vaped that for probably another 3 months... I dropped to 6 just recently without any problem.
Of course, I didn't intend on dropping down at any time, it was just that I noticed it would start to feel and taste a bit harsh so I would adjust as my body told me to and no other reason. Many of the stories you hear that wasn't successful was usually because either the individual was using inadequate equipment or they were in too much of a rush to drop the nicotine.
I wouldn't be in a rush to drop down if you're not really feeling it, but seeing you're getting the occasional head rush and nausea it could be time.

Like everything in vaping, everyone needs to do what is right for them. Right now, I don't have a desire to reduce my nicotine mg. I feel great, and I'm not smoking, which is everything right now.

My intention when I started vaping was to stop smoking cigarettes, and I'm being extremely successful with that. Zero cigarettes since I started, and the process has been almost painless.

I'm extremely grateful to be very healthy for my age, which is 71. I'm still slender (family genetics). I have lots of energy, good blood pressure, 120/70, and I am seldom sick, not even a cold. I only go to the doctor once a year for a check up, and I don't take any prescription medications. Add another grateful to the list.

Unless something dramatic happens, I plan to keep doing what I'm doing.

I agree

I have failed many times over the years and the last time was vaping, then cold turkey for 6 months. All it took was having one in the evening a couple of times and then a couple and then the stress from something and you buy a pack cuz you're only gonna have one...
This time I started at 24. Last time it was 36 and it still didn't seem enough first thing in the morning. I found myself chain vaping when I could and after a few weeks cut down to 18. I don't have any cravings for a real cig so 18 must be working. I'm in no rush to cut it now. When it seems too much, I'll drop to 12.

I purchased a juice in 18mg and 0mg. I have three tanks. 1st tank-18mg , 2nd tank- 9mg, 3rd tank- 0mg. I simply made a 9mg by doing a half 18mg mix with half 0mg. I smoke the 18mg in the morning with my coffee and than I use the 0mg to chain vape until I feel a nicotine urge and than I use 9mg. If the 9mg doesn't cut it I take a few drags of the 18mg until I am good. Most of the time the 9mg will cut it unless I am really urging for a cig or my girlfriend has me considering pre meditated murder lmao. I am only on my 10th day and this method seems to be working for me. Figured it would be best, this way I can start lowering my nicotine asap and not adapt to more nicotine from chain vaping. Hope this helps !

I've only been vaping for 6 weeks but did pretty much the same thing. Started with 24, then moved down to 18 and bought some 12 to mix with my remaining 24 to bring that down. Now buying mostly 12 but a few are still 18.

Keep a bottle or tank of "freak out" juice at a high nic level though. You don't want to get one of those moments where you feel the craving and the lower nic isn't cutting it, you can put on the tank with the high nic and squash that craving fast.

Keep in mind it matters what type of device you're using too. I started buying 12 because I started to really get into RDAs and the higher nic dripped in those was making me feel like a 5 year old after eating a whole bag of candy. I still use 18 in a tank first think in the morning, move down to lower levels at night. High nic was giving me insomnia which made me look at moving down.

I dropped my nicotine level after a couple of months and it was a good move for me. I did it the first time because I also found I was getting too much nic when I would chain vape to get through a smoke pang. Heisenberg0914's idea of having a few different nic levels handy is a good one too.

In the end, we are all our own experiments. Do what you have to do, there is no right or wrong here. I have since slowly lowered my nic levels until I am now on zero nic juice all the time. In doing that I found nicotine was not addicting for me and I can now vape it or leave it. It was cigarettes I was addicted to, not nicotine.

I doubt the MVP2 will increase the amount of nic you get from your juices. It's the toppers that are much more responsible for that.

Your on the right track. Vape on!

I have a system similar to Heisenber's...although I haven't stepped down to 0 yet.

I started at 24mg, stepped down to 18mg after a month or two. Noticed I was getting too much nicotine at night when I chain vaped - nauseous and insomnia. So I started buying 6mg too. Now I vape 12 or 18mg during the day at work or whenever I'm able to vape less frequently. And vape 6mg when I'm at home or somewhere else where I'm likely to be vaping nonstop. Should something stressful or a craving arise, I always have a tank of higher mg on hand.

Is there a rush? :) I don't think there should be.

took me several months to drop the first level.

You could always try this: buy some of the same juice in 18, then in 12. And before you drop to 12, mix them equally together for 15mg, or unequally for something inbetween.

See what happens with your cravings.

The higher nic tank on hand thing is a great idea.

Now I understand that not everyone is willing to but here's my suggestion:

I started with 2 pack a day smoking and then started 24mg nic. I used clearos primarily. Then I stepped down to 18 because I enjoyed vaping but physically could not chain vape on 24. After stepping down to 18 and using that for about a month, I started to get the same feeling of being nauseous after chain vaping. I then stepped right down to 12 with no mixing or anything again. While on 12, I slowly started adding 6 to my tank so I could start getting higher nic, higher pg juice and cutting with unflavored, no nic VG and reduce my vaping costs. This is because I found myself vaping much more. I stuck with 6 for about 6 months, the longest I've stayed on any one nic level. From there, I started rebuilding. Rebuilding, as many know, creates much more (quantity) potent vapor.

I never thought I'd cut down any further than 6nic but now, all I do is drip and 6 nic makes me nauseous. I currently use 3 nic and cut any 6 juices I get with unflavored, no nic VG.

Not everyone wants to/has the time/can physically rebuild/drip and it's understandable because it can be frustrating, time consuming, messy, and not practical for many people's daily activities. If you can though, I see this as being the FASTEST, most efficient way to cut down on nic level.

Excellent advice all around!

Every body is different when it comes to nicotine consumption and tolerance. And each of us is a different package of chemistry, biology, and behavior.

One of the main benefits IMO to PVs is the ability to tailor nicotine levels to your needs and wants, throughout the day and over time. If you're looking to reduce your nic levels, listen to your body. It will tell you if you're moving too fast. Keep a supply of e-liquid w/ varying nic levels handy and use them as necessary. Experiment. Listen to your body.

Uh oh. I'm not sure what's going on but I just ordered 4 bottles of juice in 18mg last night.....I figured like u all said there really is no reason to rush it. But late last night I noTiced I was not able to vape as much as usual due to getting nausea feeling. Ive been chain vaping the 18 mg all month with no pRoblem. And now today the same thing is happening.....im wanting to vape but im getting nausea after a few hits. What does this mean? I'm sure I need to go ahead and go to 12mg but I just ordered all that 18mg juice, ugh!!!! I Wonder why this is happening out of the blue like this, I never felt nauseous before, no matter how much I puffed.
