As far as THE BEST, I have no clue whatsoever. All I know is what I have used, those being the AGA-T2 and the RSST. I will say I'm lusting after a Vapinaze AC9.

I will also say I'm very happy with my RSST. The AGA-T2... not so much.

Been thinking of trying the AGA-T2 for my first RBA because it has a glass tank that's big. What don't you like about it?

Best is in the eye of the beholder, and what they want to accomplish with their RBA/RDA.

For me I already knew the vape I wanted, I just wanted to be prepared if the FDA comes down with a heavy foot. So I chose the A7 (Pagusas) RDA which I can make vape just like my LR 510 atomizer of choice. I know have two all loaded up, and another five A7's tucked away in the zombie box. Figure that should get me through a few winters quite nicely.

How do you handle the bottom post problem with the A7. Mine the atty itself shorted out and collapsed a heat spring in my REO. The fix about adding the insulator just did not work for me.

I was wondering...if the FDA cracks down on e cigs...what exactly will they be cracking down on? Taxing the hardware and commercial juices?

What if you diy? PG and VG is used for multiple non vape things. Food flavorings obviously are for food....i suppose nic juice could be taxed

no one will know for certain until it happens

PG, Vg and flavorings they cannot touch...NIC is a very different story

Hardware no one seems to agree on.

Well compared to the RSST it can be cantankerous. The tiny nuts on the center post are not real easy to deal with, while the RSST has a spring loaded capture, and you just pull the coil wire into it, while the AGA-T2 requires you to tighten down that tiny little knurled nut at the top, which I've had to use a pair of hemostats to do, and it often doesn't stay tight as the atty warms up under use, and gives rise to ohms creep, where your .8 ohm coil ends up being .98 or 1.3 something.

My AGA-T2 would also sometimes suddenly develop a really nasty harsh taste, out of nowhere, and I'd have to re-coil it.

The RSST also has an insulated wick hole, which is very nice. When you pulse the coil after a build it glows from the top and bottom at the same time, which is much more efficient coil heating than just from the top, as with the AGA-T2, which seldom if ever gets the bottom coil loop glowing. It's much easier and quicker to work out hot spots with the RSST for this reason.

The "best" in an RDA, for me, is the Smoktech Scar.

Why? Because it works and it's like $7, lol.

Seriously, you can spend as much or as little money as you like.

Yes, I think I will get into some of the higher-end attys, but for now, I'm still in the experimentation stage, and I'd hate to drop $150 on something I only use once or twice and then put in a drawer.

I have a AC9, Chinese DID, A7 & 2 RM2 by Reosmods. All are good but the RM2 is great on a Reo. The AC9 & Chinese DID are great on either a VW or Mech mod.
The A7 is good for dripping & holds about 7 to 8 drops of juice.
For a genny I prefer the AC9 just because of ease of build. No thumb screws or hex wrenches, just a flat blade screwdriver.
All are good but each have their own place.
Just start out cheap so You don't end up with a fortune in equipment that you don't like because it is easy to do.

    Have a Good One,
