Hi,
I received my first bottle of e-juice and the bottle was not covered in any plastic wrapping or anything-like "tamper proof packaging" found on most products in stores. The cover was sort of "child proof" and the company is one that seems to be well liked and recommended often on this forum-otherwise I would not even ask this question I would toss it. Is this ok? Is this how it usually comes?
I know that I just could be used to the protective packaging, but I want to check if this is normal for e-juice or should I be concerned?
(Background:I was just old enough to understand and be effected by the news reports of the tylenol incident that started the whole protective packaging movement and laws, so I am a little freaked out:>)
I have never seen e-juice come in protective packaging. So yes, that's normal, and expected.
Most e-juice is either re-bottled by retailers, or a small-time operation run by a family, and maybe a handful of employees. Also, the e-juice business is new, and not subject to FDA regulation. Most e-juice makers expect the consumer to exercise some caution and common sense - not saying it's right, just saying that's how it is.
This is pretty much why there is SO much talk about health, safety, particular vendors, what goes into juice, etc. Because at this point in time, it's up to you to be informed. The government can't help you. These are the Wild West days of e-cigarettes.
