Hi Vmod users, I'm contemplating buying a Vmod Xl and I'm wondering about what rebuildables are compatible with it

Im not much of a carto or atty user, so, is it compatible with ANY and all 510 devices?

Also, does it always need to be tilted upside down for it feed?

I was thinking about a Reo grand, but the level of fanboism is putting me away from it, feels like the real worse on iOS vs android users you find in so many itch forums

Any help is appreciated

My :2c: is you should post in the Vmod threads for a quick answer. Post in this one. http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...lling-all-vmodders-those-interested-vmod.html

btw i used to use vmods and tried a REO because of the fanboism. All mod users have a certain level of it even vmodians :)

Just so you know that the reo threads you posted in were a reaction to a reo bashing. The posts were not because of people using other mods. I still think Vmods have their place and respect the people and am friends with those who use/prefer them.

Whatever it takes to keep on vaping is my motto!

I'm undecided really, I didn't know that the 40% coupon from vapage just expired so the Reo is gaining once again more attraction.

I really don't understand the fanboism about a device. When I moved up from Ego batteries the first device I got was a Provari (which I'm using right this moment), this was more than a year ago and has given me 0 problems. But man do i care less when I read that it's an overpriced piece of junk!

Now, the provari's pricing vs the REO... well, provari is also SS, very study and mine has fallen from1.5 meter into concrete. No issues, it has its circuitry with a lot of protection (when I started with genesis mine saw a bazillion shorts, no issues) and what it does, it does GREAT.

Nowadays I'm more of a mech / RBA / RDA junkie but for those times when I feel like a carto (still have like 50 from last year! use them when leaving the house) or a 1.5+ Genny I just pop it in an enjoy the Provari

The REO, well, it's a mech, materials there shouldn't be more than $25 or $30.

I truly understand it's a matter of scale though, while provape is a company chucking this out constantly, Rob is there doing more hand work at a lower pace and output.

I think he deserves all the praise for a reliable product and I DONT think it's overpriced, I think I'm getting one anyhow (have never even seen one in person), but I'm trying to gather information on all the options available out there before getting into one.

and yeah, the fanboism runs high on most devices, same for the Vamo (which is the worse thing I have bought). that thing is only good for cartos, maybe regular attys and as an ohm reader (provari won't read below .7 ohms). But Pulse width Modulation is no good for a Genesis in my experience.

Same thing goes for iOS vs Android / iphone vs evertyhing else (i'm a iOS developer but I use Android for a cell phone, iOs for a tablet). It's a freaking object!!!!

Yeah I'm aware were I posted, was going to post on the other one but was closed.

Anyhow, thanks more_REOs for the input. it's good to talk to somehow willing to help others.

Hi Dhomes. Yeah, if you are down with RBAs, it's hard to imagine using anything else. I'm with ya on that bro. I have read that the vmod can be rigged to accept certain RBAs, but cannot offer any info first hand.

Here is a link to a thread that compiles basic info you may find helpful about REOsmods:

Good luck in your decision bro and feel free to ask any questions :)

Hi, super, no L in dhomes ;)
yeah the Microcoils i have broken down, although somehow I still prefer silica on them if just because I don't need worry about burning the wick
just boiling & drying the silica and I can't feel any extra weird taste

right now btw rocking a 12 wrap 28 kanthal @ 2 ohm, it's HEAVENLY on a provari @ 5.2, move it to a VAMO and it's worthless (doesn't heat properly / fast enough), this is set @ 15 watts on a fresh batt and set up at n02.

anyhow, since vapage doesn't have the promo I was looking at anymore and I just read people are adding short 510 extenders and so I think I'll go with a REO+RM2

just a question on the REO Grand, can it take a phoenix v2 without an adapter?

I know someone drilled the bottom with a 1/16 bit for bottom feeding and I just want what I have on my mech on a bottom feeder, the RM2 will be the icing on the cake.

But as it stands right now a vertical SS Mesh on a phoenix @ .7 ohms is just way, way too good for me to pass on a feeder

thanks for the input btw!

My bad on the L bro. Fixed it up :) I have only used the Hornet, Chalice and RM2, so I don't know about Phoenix but if you ask here:
http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/reos-mods/ I bet you'll get an answer :)

btw, on a cotton wick, should it be really dense, medium dense or fairly loose before running it through the wick?

I saw your tutorial super_x,, pretty good but it's not clear to me how tight you are rolling the wick

You want the wick to be pretty dense but no wider than the coil for the entire length of the wick. Short wick tails are money too.
In other words, when you roll the wick, roll it up good and longer than your coil, keeping the thickness and density the same for the length, as you pull it thru, you wanna just barely feel some resistance. Once it's in, trim, saturate and vape. Vapdivrr recently made a sweet video and goes into detail about the cotton part. I'll dig it up shortly.

I hope that helps bro. Ask away :)
