I’ve never had issue with plastic tanks fogging, cracking or melting with various citrus/cinnamon based flavors that have been reported to be problematic. I order 100% VG e-juices from one vendor now that I’m very happy with, so I don’t really buy other brands anymore.

Recently, my friend exhaled some very nice citrus smelling vapor, so I wanted to try it. After a few puffs, I found it had a strong soapy taste with quite a bit of a throat hit for just an 8% nic level. Was told it was orange lemonade at 95/5 VG to PG ratio, but what surprised me was that he mentioned that the juice didn’t work in his CE4 b/c it melted the drip tip.

I dunno, but personally, I wouldn’t want to be vaping anything that I knew could “melt” plastic like that, let alone continue to order other flavors from them. It seems that Triacetin could be a cause, but no way to really verify the actual ingredients.

What is everyone else’s experience with this? Do you stay clear of that brand, or just switch to a glass tank?

Some are more concerned that if ajuice will soften , fog or crack a tank / drip tip that it may not be great for thier throat , lungs or other body parts. Others just go to juice proff hardware and hope their body can deal with the juice.

Much the same as many not doing any research to find out what harmful ingredents are in their water, food or ejuice There are many ejuice ingredients known to be best avoided such as flavoring which are listed by some key supplies as to be used for cooking only not recomended for vaping.

TFA states on thier website that thier Vanilla Bean Ice Cream should be used for cooking only / maybe harmful to vape but I have used 24 ml. to date in ejuice and just ordered 32ml more. Same source states that any flavors with Custard Notes contains ingredents which should not be vaped yet however there are a ton of ejuices with custard notes.

Easy to take the stand that vaping is still safer than smoking no matte what you vape ,right?

advanced search: Tank cracker

Just caustic to the type of plastic, tons of threads on the types that eat at those types of plastics

Thanks, but not so much interested in what types of ejuices vs plastic, but rather, wanted to know if people would continue to vape products known to react with plastics. in other words, whether you vape out of glass or plastic, if you knew an ejuice would react with plastic, would you still use that same liquid in a glass tank?

I wouldn't use the plastic.

I also don't keep pre-mixed liquid in plastic bottles, and store nicotine base in glass bottles.

I vape Cinnamon Occasionally and would vape the citrus occasionally [If I liked it], but I would avoid vaping caustic liquids as a daily vape. Why push it?

There is no plastic in my body...so I'm not worried!

I've researched this subject extensively.

Something Safe for Cinnamon & Citrus Flavors

I'm confident that these flavors are safe to vape at least in moderation.

The reaction is a chemical one between a specific type of plastic (polycarbonate) and specific flavoring agents. An anology would be pouring Coke on the chemical buildup on battery terminals to dissolve the crud. It eats it away in no time flat, yet that doesn't likely keep you from drinking a Coke every now and then, does it?

Actually, I don't drink cola's either ;) But I do get your point though. May be overreaching to take the extra steps to avoid any additional chemicals given that as a former smoker, I was probably taking in close to 4,000 different kinds at one time!

Still, I feel better doing so, so I guess to each his own. Happy vaping!
