Disclaimer-This is what happened when I mixed 3 items together, it is not a comment on any of the 3 individually. There is no reason why not to by any of these 3 just be sure not to mix them.

I bought Bobas Bounty and 555 from alien. I tried it and wasn't satisfied so I added around 40% more of RTS Vapes 60mg Vg Liquid to beef up the nicotine and For Flavor I added around 10-20% TPA Pecan VG flavoring. It was delicious.

I began vaping it on a " GotVapes NEW VISION eGo Stardust™ 1.6ml TC 2.5-2.8 LONG WICK" after a day the plastic on the mouthpiece, the part that contacts the liquid inside, began to melt. A chunk even fell off inside. I thought it was a defective Clearomizer generating excessive heat, than it happened on a second Clearomizer filled with alien 555 Pecan and rts

The way I confirmed it wasn't a heat issue was that II stopped using the first one last night and looked at it this morning (while cold) and the plastic was excessively melting and gooey, this convinced me that it's a chemical reaction not a heat reaction.

The bummer is that I really liked both Alien E-juices when mixe with TPA Pecan so I had made two big 20ml batches. Now I have to throw it away. I was thinking about using them with another Clearomizer, than I thought about it and realized, do I really want to vape something that melts plastic ?

1 picture shows the piece of black plastic floating in the liquid. The other shows the melted rim

Well my opinion is that just because an e-liquid reacts badly with certain plastics, doesnt necessarily mean that it is bad to vape. There are a lot of flavors that destroy plastics, a lot of lemon or citrus, some root beers, cinnamon, some pecan when highly concentrated. The list is huge, its kind of like that demonstration where coca cola eats through metal., lots of people still drink coke. Obviously I would not use that liquid in those cartos but it wouldnt stop me from vaping one of my favorites. Just my opinion.

edit: I actually have had liquid completely shatter a polycarbobnate tube within minutes, I still vape that flavor. just not in polycarbonate tanks, I use polypropelyne or glass for those flavors.

Can you vape it in a cartomizer? I have noticed that some liquids are a bit harsh on some materials. I've lost paint on my eGo's, attys and cones due to eliquid. I just assumed that it was a bad reaction between the paint and liquids but not that it was unsafe to vape.
I would love to see more glass parts for ecigs, plastics tend to have this risk. Just as an aside, many a consultant for adult toy parties can tell you that if some plastics come in contact with others they will melt and/or fuse together. Doesn't make the product itself unsafe, but proper storage is necessary. I suspect this is part of the issue here, something in the juice doesn't play well with that particular plastic. It could even be the pg.

It would be unfair to discriminate against any of the the vendors based on this post.

I Know that AV alone is fine. TPA Pecan Mixed with RTS Vapes VG Is fine. But combine the three and you have a mixture that melts the mouthpiece on the Vision Clearomizer.

On a different note:

This week my Sansa Clip MP3 Player malfunctioned. The volume button wouldn't work, so I pushed it really hard and broke it.

I finally reached my frustration level on my Electric Bicycle that was in the shop being modified for 7 months, so I drove 40 minutes and picked it up from the mechanic, than I drove 2 hours to get it fixed by another dealer. Came home that night and rode it around the block. Next day it was deader than a doornail.

So it's not unexpected that I create a plastic eating liquid by accident.

It's just that kind of week. Sigh....

If you haven't seen it, you might want to browse this thread for clues as to which types of plastics react negatively to ejuices. It's more of a plastic type in the clearomizer than a problem with the juice, IMO. I'm not saying that juice that melts any kind of plastic isn't cause for concern, but it's happening with other plastic containers and not just clearos. I suspect that we will see vendors addressing this problem as well as the clearo makers.

I'd also like to see juice pass health tests before being offered for sale. We went through the butter flavor diacetyl that was removed from popcorn showing up in juices a while back. I'd rather know that all the ingredients in my juice are safe to inhale.

ETA: I think most clearos are made from polycarbonate materials. This post has a list of the different types of plastics and their relative safety for products designed for human consumption.

Maybe we should compile a list of flavor reactions? And which things they react with?

Just for reference for manufacturers, and DIY folks... If plastics are decaying in a carto, someone could be vaping some bad stuff without knowing it perhaps...

Would just be good to know...

*edit* oops just saw the link above about plastics and bottles... Lol
