I have googled this ad nauseaum (imo) and can't find a suitable answer (likely due to faulty search filters) so I thought I'd ask in an educated forum. I currently use a Calmodz Hero w/Prometheus tank running at .3 ohms. <3 this mod, but I digress, what I want to know is if there is any bottom coil/fed atty that would have a similar draw. I've only tried the Kanger PT (I rebuilt) and it's still no where even close. I don't like the tight draw it has at all. I would prefer not having to mod an atty to get the effect

Bottom coil and bottom fed are 2 different things actually. A bottom fed atomizer, in the context I'm familiar with, is one with an open post that can be used on devices like the Reo or VMod. A bottom coil is just a horizontal coil on the bottom of a clearo or carto.

As for something similar to the Prometheus tank, I'm not familiar with that. Sorry.

Since you say the Protank is too tight, it sounds like you want something with airflow control.

Hmm, well, I was under the assumption that bottom fed/coil is essentially the same thing w/gravity doing work. Sorry if that's completely off.

In any case, yes, I'd like some sort of adjustable airflow or at the least, on that gives draw similar to a Kraken (probably more well-known) at the very least. This is mostly for convenience from time to time. My wife and I are in the military and there are just times when being able to throw the atty in my pocket w/o worry of the tank emptying in its entirety would be very nice.

So really, I just want a rebuildable option that has a bottom coil and I can easily change (with a drill or not) the airflow to what I desire (say 2 ≈1mm holes on a genny or drip for referance).

I just know how it is used around here. I may well be wrong in the wider scheme of things. :)

I don't use tanks, so I really can't help you here. Bumping this so hopefully someone with more knowledge can come along and help you.

Also, there is a sub-forum further down which is all about RBA's. Try your question there. Good luck.

i guess you mean something like the Kayfun, Spheroid, Prometey2 or other "tank dripper"?
Where you make a coil at the botton and the tank or filler supplies the juice. vs. a Prometheus which along with the Kraken is a genesis tank with the juice tank under the coil/s.
Actually you are on the "right" track because most seem to prefer the RDA and RTA drippers (rebuildable dripper, rebuildable tank dripper) because flavor is better… easier to set up too.
RDA straight drippers require constant redripping but are very popular for those reasons.

These are high end examples and there are clone versions…

If you are lucky enough to get the Prometey 2 imo its the best of the bunch although hundreds if not thousands swear by the kayfun, kayfun lite, and various clone versions… imo they are more difficult to setup than the Prometey. both have air draw control as well.
I'm pretty sure the Kayfun which uses a tank supply holds more juice.

Actually, yeah, that seems perfect. You seem to have experience with them, do they leak in certain positions like genny tanks? Other than that, seems like any of those are a winner. Money isn't the issue so much (my current setup cost $400), I just want something that works so I don't have to purchase several different models. I got a Prometheus genny cuz most of what I read said it was a cooler vape for a genny compared to many others, which I prefer. Any recommendation?

I'm fairly new to all the rebuildables and just purchased the Taifun GT. I have the PT II and it's just a bigger version that is easy to rebuild. I also put an aero adjustable base on my PT II because the draw was too tight for me and I love it. Here is a thread on the taifun with lots of info. Good luck and happy vaping!

Prome is one of the better Geni's and Kraken is better imo… dual coils (at sub ohms.. btw you are using safe chem batts i assume) have a tendency to diminish flavor while huge clouds but these are exceptions.

So yeah go with the the drip tank style… there's always going to be some possibility of leaking somewhere along the line, but i'd say not much more than other tanks styles..
I take my gear on the road but try to keep them upright…

thousands of kayfun users cant be wrong imo… since Prometey are hard to get, check the kayfun lite … would assume that link to the "taifun" is similar.

and @blacklist might be right about the PT 11 as well… i know some friends who swear by the vape.

btw way, if you really want mobility, check out the Reo Grand bottom feeders… but wait til later this month when he comes out with the new contacts for sub ohms vaping.
since you know how to make sub ohms coils safely, Reo is entering a new era with sub ohms capable contacts. since i'm suggesting, get some AW IMR 1600's (not 2000)… and an RM2 (rebuilable dripper Reomizer2 which feeds from the bottom)
The Reo Grand is a bottom fed device with a 9ml juice bottle.
Make some .5 to .7 ohms micro coils with cotton ball wicks and you will be set for portable vaping!

Hmm, right now I own a Trident, Kraken, Prometheus, and Kraken PT1/2. Prome is def my favorite out of the bunch...my Kraken collected nothing but dust so I just build it up for my wife anymore. I only use Sony 30a high drain batteries but my wife uses Panny and AW IMRs. Sony's are great for clouds, but only a little better than the AWs, imo. Pannys have better longevity but less vapor production...at least that's my experience and quick breakdown.

And the Reo Grand sounds great! I'm not worried about some leaking, all do, but just wanna be able to know if I put it in my pocket or lay it on its side it won't be empty in 30 mins or less, which is the only issue I have with gennys. Thanks for all your info, everyone, been such a great help.

your Hero sounds interesting; i just looked it up… i am a big fan of Nemesis and the Hero is said to have similar button design, which is the best thing about the Neme imo…

Good luck with the dripper tanks; do you live in So. Calif.? that is a place for performance mods, and atomizers, and juice bars!

Keep us posted and ask away if you want more dripper talk.

Seems most genesis users have converted for the most part.

yeah, I love my Hero mod, it's great. I recommend it if you can get your hands on one, but there were only 500 made so it's hard. I got 499 serial lol. Talk about close. I also loved the design of the Nem, but none available. I will say that I had to do some minor sanding on the Hero to help the button fire smoother. Sometimes if pressed at an angle it would stick and prevent it from firing, but the sanding fixed it. I seem to have an odd habit of wrapping my pinky around the edge of the button when pressing it, so yeah.

But no, I currently reside in VA. I visit NorCal regularly because my wife's from there. VA sucks for vaping community :/ I'll check around on the Reo tomorrow. It's one anime episode til bedtime for me.
