Hey again everyone.

Well it's been 17 days and counting, and could be happier with my progress. Would like to personally thank everyone who has been helpful thus far. Without the knowledge I obtained from some of these members I might have just dropped vaping all together and gone back to smoking cigarettes.

So something that I have been wanting to ask for quite some time. I have grown quite fond of the Vivi Nova 2.5ml and 3.5ml tank system, very easy to clean, very convenient fits on my eGo-C Twist and my eVic but when it comes down to the atomizers, I am stumped. I know there are different kinds, 1.8ohm (LR), 2.4ohm (SR) 2.8ohm (SR), really what is the difference between these -- the ohm's and SR/LR? Is there a big difference when vaping? I did notice quite a bit of difference between 1.8ohm and 2.4ohm and found 1.8 to be better. -- Also, when do you know is the right time to replace the atomizer? I have no issue purchasing more atomizers over rebuilding it all together with a new wick and coil i'm just unsure of when you know it needs to be changed.

As for cartomizers, I personally like them especially for quick on the go type of cartridges -- i recently purchased the Redds Kitt and love it, however I think i already destroyed one of my batteries because of not knowing how to fill these cartridges properly. I have not found clear instructions on how much liquid to place in these cartridges -- are they refillable cartridges? For how long can yo uuse the same cartridge? As for the eRoll Again i love it, just wish the kit could come with more catridges as well, would anyone happen to know where I could could purchase more cartridges for the eRoll? And also when do you know its the right time to switch the atomizer on the eRoll as well?

Thanks in advance, I know this is a cluttered post with a lot all over the place I will be willing to clarify anything that seems confusing.

Thanks!

I do believe the LR allows to you vape like you are using a high voltage device.
The LR attys were created so you could get a comparable vape to HR vaping using eGo type batteries.
At least that is my understanding.

Comparison ---> using a LR atty on a eGo @ 3.7 volts is comparable to using a 4.0 ohm atty on a high voltage device @ 6 volts (don't quote me on the comparison however this should give you an idea).

You should clean and/or change out the coil when your vape starts tasting foul. When I did the Novas (I am now a fan of the DCTs) I would rebuild a coil every day.

Hi Togglez, I use Vivi Novas and the heads are easy to clean.

You know when you need to clean the heads when the taste is off or the draw becomes a bit tight. I can usually go 3 or 4 days before I need to clean/change out a Vivi Nova head...depends on the juice. They are lasting me for months.

I run the atomizer head under warm (not hot) running water then soak them in a cup of warm, distilled water, usually overnight. I put them on a paper towel to dry and the next day give them a quick dry burn. Soaking the Vivi's seems to get rid of most of the crud that has formed around the coil.

I usually keep four Vivi's going at one time...different juice flavours. It works for me. :)

Happy vaping.

I appreciate the responses so far but really not the information I was looking for. I already know how to clean our my Vivi Nova Tanks, whenever I clean my Viva Nova i leave them soaking i leave them soaking in water, not distilled water though, i have not seen a big difference of the type of water to be used.

Thank you larktdl for giving a little explanation of the LR's over the SR's.

Thanks again for your responses and your feedback.

Here is a great write on LR vs SR - Credit goes to Biff
http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...e-wanted-know-plus-bit-electronic-theory.html

Here is my take in very short version -
Basic over view of the LR SR HR, is the heat produced by the heating element and the volts to do it. LR is good for standard 3.4(7) volt batteries that run on a single setting. SR allows you to run a higher voltage without burning the juice and find your sweet spot for you. HR allows you to run even higher voltage.

LR= Low resistance, SR=standard resistance and HR=High resistance.

Different resistances were developed before the use of variable voltage devices. The reason the 1.8 ohm head was better than the 2.5 ohm head is because the lower resistance allowed more power to the head. More power = a warmer vape with a seemingly bigger throat hit. On a variable voltage device, it really doesn't matter what head you use as your "sweet spot" can be achieved by adjusting the voltage. However, if you'd like to use the full range of the variable device, then an SR or even HR device should be used as pushing 6 volts through a LR head will not do anybody good.

The only true way to know when to clean or replace your head will be taste. For cartos, another indication is when they just don't absorb liquid as much as when fresh. Overall though, things just start to taste bad.

If those Redds are auto batteries (meaning not needing to push a button to take your draw), then you need to remove the cartridge before you refill them. Otherwise, you risk overfilling and leaking into your battery and frying it. I believe they are a newer product so maybe not too many video instructions on Youtube. Just do a search for The Volt refilling or refilling the Bloog Maxx. Or better yet

Volt How-to's - Refill Cartos - Remove Film from PCC - Silver Battery - YouTube

That link has more info then you need relating to that specific product but will be good to watch for refilling carto's with auto bats.

Good luck with everything.

I think most of your questions were covered well, but I noticed at least one thing was missed and I thought I'd add my :2c:

As for Vivi heads, like people said the taste will be off. Personally I'm cheap and I use the things way too long, if after a cleaning they have a tight draw, bad/ burnt taste or very low vapor it's probably time to toss them. I can get a month or longer out of heads, but obviously the less time you use them the better the over-all vape will be, I think most people will get a week or two out of a head and the other extreme is people that won't even bother to clean them and toss them instead. The eRoll atomizer is similar, but since it's just the atomizer with proper cleaning it should definitely last a month or two at least in my opinion.

I watched the carto filling video quickly and it seems pretty good, since the Redds is an automatic battery you definitely want to make sure liquid doesn't get down into the battery. Aside from filling it off of the battery, blowing it out gently and cleaning the connector - I always left cartomizers to sit a bit to let liquid soak in a bit more and then wiped down the connector again again before connecting them.

If you've killed a Redd battery, the Intro Kit might be a good idea, it's a tad cheaper for the single battery, compared to buying 4 at a time and comes with another cartridge. I'm not positive, but I'm sure happyvaper would mail this snail mail one cheaply; Canadian E-cigarette Redds Intro

I don't think anyone answered this; most places should have eRoll cartridges/tanks. Here's 2 places;
