HI there i have a lavetube, and i use a vivi nova. i notice that when i use the 2.4 coil(if that is what its called) it shows a reading of 2.1 at times and when i change it to the 2.8 coil , it shows a reading of 2.6. previously when i use the 2.4 coil it showed as 2.4 but when i switched it to the 2.8 and back to the 2.4 it shows as 2.1 ohm reading , is this normal?

Yes and no.
Try cleaning them.
If still not working, Please tell.

This happens when i just wash them and use them. i was using the 2.8 and it showd 2.6. so i went and washed it, than used the 2.4 to see if i liked it better than the 2.8. but when i checked the readings it shows 2.1 now? instead of 2.4

Not a real problem!
If you know usual good vape and it works for you then you have nothing to worry about

it's vapeing fine and everything, just that the reading on my lavatube, young june v2(if i'm not wrong) shows different. tried taking the batts out and insetting them back again but still at 2.1.

Pay attention, this will be on the test later:

Fresh from the factory floor, coil resistance has a natural amount of variation. In use the resistance changes not only due to wear and tear, but the resistance changes as the coil heats up and cools back down.

Submerge the coil in liquid helium and the resistance goes to zero ohms.(superconductivity)

You're welcome.

Is the atomizer hitting good? Then don't worry too much about it. That's the nice part about VV. Turn it up or down till you hit that sweet spot in the flavor.

Oh ok got it . It's normal as long i am getting good vape and taste and throat hit. Since this is my 2nd day off analogs and vapeing , maybe i'm just too curious and excited i guess ;)

My first week on this forum I was asking all kinds of off the wall questions.

Ask away.

I asked a similar question the other day. Someone said these vivi heads aren't exact. I've been vaping on a mini vivi and a vivi and the reading is always different from the label. haha So I just check the reading and adjust the voltage accordingly.

thanks for the info , after my last post ...when the ohm reading showed 2.1 it went even lower to 1.1 or something and i was not able to fire my lavatube. I took out the coil washed it and the wick came out like cotton. It is spoilt. I also noticed that on my vivi nova cover there in no red color on the letter v on the cover.

I'm just glad that i got a lavatube instead of other pv's. would not have been able to know what the readings if i had others.

One of the other things to remember with the Vivi Nova is that the wire connections are not solid like a soldered connection. The wires are held to the metal connection by rubber pressing them together. This can affect the resistance because a tighter connection gives less resistance and if it loosens, the resistance will increase. As stated before in this thread, the resistance will also increase and decrease as it heats and cools.

This is why variable wattage is such a Great advantage. You set the wattage that tastes best to you and VW will adjust the voltage to keep the same watts as the resistance goes up and down with the temperature. The taste remains the same without you adjusting anything as it goes along. It is the way of the future, for sure, but it is already available at reasonable prices ($40 - $100).
