I'm new at this, only four days I guess and, btw, haven't touched an analog since. But I've read and watched videos and I perfer the burn off method. Makes sense to just burn off the excess gunk. Might be high VG, sugars, ect. in a liquid that cloggs them. Using a higher voltage mentioned here sounds like it works well. I'm getting Jason's batt-less 5V passthrough so that should help keep my 510 clean.

Jason, tell the dood to try your passthrough. If that don't work sounds like poor quality attys.

I'm getting your five-pack Joye attys on payday. I'd imagine the quality control is good on those.

:)

I don't think it's a problem with JC. I vape that stuff like mad and have been on the same 4 attys for over two months now.
Maybe using 4 at a time gives them some sort of a rest or something or maybe QC is bad in some batches.
From what i have read on these forums the basic method to extend the life of an atty is to pray really really hard and think about puppies and rainbows.

I'll throw in another voice of support of JC. I've used their liquids exclusively for 8 months now, and I've suffered only one atomizer death. And that was my fault for removing the wick. (I was a newbie and thought it was cart stuffing stuck under there.) That moment of stupidity also killed one of my 510 batteries.

For all of my other attys, I used them for about 6 weeks until the draw became so hard, they were almost unusable. Then I just threw them in a baggie for a future miracle. Then I found this thread with my miracle:

http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/tips-tricks/69834-my-atty-resurrection-method.html

I used the method described there and one of my old gunked-up attys is working like new. I'm using it now.

Every atty I have lost, I have either soaked or boiled or tried to clean. I think the best thing you can do is just "blow" it out into a paper towel every now and again. I will not "clean" another atty. I have had 3 attys for 4 or 5 months now and they are doing just fine, and I have never "cleaned" them. I would definitely tell people not to soak them or boil them unless they want to replace them. These things have a manual cleaning cycle for a reason.

I can only speak for the month I've been doing this, but I clean mine all the time and haven't lost an atty yet. I'm ridiculous though about not letting them get dry. And I use a lot of juice including JC on a regular basis. I clean with hot water followed by vodka. Also use rubbing alcohol to clean the contact points. I think sometimes attys overheat because of the gunk built up on the air holes. But that's just a guess.

but having 4 atomizers go in a month all in a row is a little ridiculous.. (i have a customer that claims this right now)

I would've thought that too, until I had 5 go in 3 weeks. Beats the snot out of me why either. 2 went way high resistance, the others had various symptoms, but didn't perform like every other 510. Thing is, I haven't yet found anything other than the Cisco LR 306 to use instead, and even there, I have just 1, and I haven't used it enough to know how durable it is. (I do have a small variety of possibles now, but nothing that works as well as a std. 510 -- when it's working right.)

When I started vaping, I didn't clean at all, used carts, and had atties last for 3 months. But too many people drip for it to be the cause of my atty trouble. And I didn't start cleaning them until I started having them vape poorly. Whatever the cause, I seem to have developed a talent for it. Unless I find a reliable replacement I like, I might just buy them in a quantity sufficient to get a reasonable discount (and wait for sales) and figure on throwing some away. That goes against my grain, but if that's what it takes ...

Well first off Even the factory that produces LR atomizers (joye) Clearly states that LR atomizers have a very short life span. And they have dropped their standard atomizers from 2.8 ohm to 2.4 ohm. So that can explain some of that. I got sick of replacing atomizers as well as many people have. I personally use the Boge LR 510 cartos. 1 Carto will last me around a week and i dont feel bad just chucking it because it was under 2 bucks.

Somewhat tangental, but I don't know there's a good definition of "LR". My opinion on that is perhaps skewed because I started out on a 510, and "standard" there is 2.2. So I think of 1.8 as LR, but not 2.2. Really, it's all relative to the voltage of your batt.

I can only say that my expectations were set with my original experience. And if that's actually exceptional, that's fine, and I'll change my expectations accordingly. And I am sympathetic to the tribulations of vendors -- I have worked retail, not to mention importation issues, which is a headache I wouldn't want. But I also want the stuff I buy to work, and I'd actually rather pay more and not have to deal with returns, etc.
