It looks like you need to screw the center piece of the adapter together so the one end doesn't stick out so far.

What two adapters are you using?

It looks like a 510~901 adapter and a 901~510 adapter.

What I would do is separate these two adapters and then screw the 510~901 adapter onto your ProVari first. I would then turn the center piece clockwise enough that when you screw on the other adapter to this one it screws together completely. You want to make sure that you do not turn it in too far as this would prevent it from making a connection with the battery. When I use two adapters together like that I always put the one adapter on the battery end first, make any adjustments, and then I screw on the other adapter. It does make a difference with some adapters as to which one you screw onto what first, as the center section does move back and forth inside of the adapter. Once you have the two adapters set up right you can keep the two adapters together. Meaning you don't have to separate the two adapters every time you screw it on or off of your ProVari.

If you have a Digital Multi meter you could check for continuity through the center section of the adapter.

It was actually flush before. I pushed it out using the method you suggested.I figured it was worth a shot because the is the center piece that now sticks out is not hitting the contact . The bottom line is The 510 on my adapter wont thread. Not even one full turn onto my Provari.

Im using the bridged 510 adapter mention in the OP's post. It is simply a 510-901 threaded to a 901-510.

Still have yet to remove this 510-901 and replace with my stealth 510-901.

Ok so I have the solution.

The adapter in the center is the original 510-901 from empire.it didn't thread properly.
The one on the left is the stealth adapter also 510-901.
and the one on the right is the 901-510. :

I put the stealth and 901-510 together and put it on the atty:

Put on the drip shield and there you have it.A 510 that works beautiful with the drip shield on my mod.also as you can see if you look at the last pics I posted the atty doesn't sit as high above the shield.

So the drip shield will work with Riva and eGo batteries without an adapter? There seems to be plenty of room for it to slide down. I have an eGo and I love it! I recently started dripping and I have had a couple of leaks thus far.. I’ve learned to let go and just not worry about it because it is sealed and whats the point of owning an e-cig that you love if you aren’t going to use it the way you like to?
Here’s my question, will the cone still slide over and screw down all the way over the drip shield or will I not be able to use the cone? That’s another thing with me, I hate the look of an eGo coneless! lol

It was my understanding that the cone of the eGo actually captured the liquid and fed it back into the holes to be drawn back into the atty. I guess that is not correct?

Just curious why someone would need a drip shield on a 510. The 901 attys have a hole in the middle of their side where the coil compartment is. When you flood a 901 atty the juice actually drips out the middle of the side of the atty, all over your fingers.
510's have holes at the base of the atomizer, and the juice will leak out of there when it's flooded. By using an adapter to raise up the atomizer, it accomplishes the same goal that it does on the 901.

Well it does catch the extra juice, but as far as feeding back in… It would probably take a pretty significant leak to get it close enough to the notches at the base of the atty. I’m just a neat freak. Don’t like all that juice all over the threads of my cone and the top of the battery. I’m slowly adjusting to the mess, but my OCD is bad sometimes.

Haha I know what you mean. Can't stand leaks. I have a Provari, which has a drip well to catch liquid so it doesn't get on the rest of the unit, but I don't even like seeing the liquid in the well. That's why I am putting a drip shield on it. As far as a drip shield on an eGo, I don't think the cone would fit over it, just based on pictures I have seen.

How long do the O-rings last on these things? Wouldn't they get brittle from the heat of the atomizer at higher voltages? Or get gouged while transferring?

That's a good question...I'd say they are probably still too new to tell, but I'm sure the O-Rings could be replaced easy enough. As far as temperatures go, and good O-ring can handle the temperatures on the outside of the atty.

Take your fingernail and put it under the atomizer pin and pull it out a little bit and you should get a connection and it should fire after that... When you pull it out a lil bit it should give it enough length to make contact. Only screw the atomizer untill you feel it bite and thats good enough any more than that can cause a short and it wont fire!
