    Dear Everyone,

I've recently been influenced to make an informational site about Ecigs. From everything to comprehensive information regarding models, where/where not to buy, reviews, DIY recipes, some how tos, and links to here and (hopefully) some affiliate vendors.

I planned to try to put google ads on there to help pay for the domain space, but as I was looking through their terms it says that stuff about tobacco is not allowed.

Site owners, how did you get around this? Did you go with a different ad provider? Did they give you any problems? Is there anything else I should know about making this kind of site? (To keep from getting bad publicity) ect?

At this time it would be information only and I do not plan to sell anything on the site (however I would be more then happy to affiliate with vendors and link back to them.)

    Input please.

No offense but I don't see the point when we have this site, wikipedia, etc. Good luck to you though. If you are able to bring something unique to the table you might have something on your hands.

Well, whether or not its beneficial to anyone but me is to be decided by its viewers, ne? Never the less, as web development is my major more practice can't ever hurt can it?

And yes I did hear on here, somewhere at some point about a member having trouble getting google ad sence on his site because it was about P/Vs and he had to do something in order to let him have the ads. I figured some vendor or other site admin would have been able to shed some insight.

Yes, google ad sence terms and conditions does state that nothing in regards to tobacco can be present on any site with google ads.

Zero good luck. Good info site is needed (IMO.) If I can help, let me know. SEM / development is what I do full time. I thought of getting into that myself but time (or lack thereof) is my problem.

What you heard was AdWords, not AdSense. The vendor was trying to market his site via AdWords that "sells" the product and that is against Google TOS. Posting AdSense will not be the problem. Said that, AdSense (commonly reffed to as "webmaster welfare") is not the way to monetize the site. At this stage of your venture, forget about monetizing, instead worry about "quality" of the info and getting the traffic. If you can accomplish that, monetizing will solve itself.

Thank you, that was exactly the kind of response I was looking for. I've never heard the name of it as webmaster welfare before (LOL).

I have an action plan for monetizing, and am working on brushing up flash skills (and other such things that have grown fuzzy over the summer) but I won't put my name on a site that isn't quality. I mean it may not be up to MGMGrand.com (which is an absolutely brilliantly done site, btw) but it will be clean and aesthetically pleasing. Content will be continuously updated as the site grows. And traffic is where promoting and good site maps come in :)

I'm actually working on the same thing :)

And Uptown, affiliates never hurt either!!

    Thanks guys!

Alright, well thanks to some of the kind words here I went ahead and got started on the actual layout of the site. Its nothing super flashy or anything, but its simple and easy to read/look at.

Anyways, I have a good idea of what I want to include on the site. Which includes:

An introduction to what vaping is, why we do it, why we love it, and what you need to really get started. (Anything else I should include to the intro? Key points is all I'm looking for I'll do the actual research myself :))

Model review. Not exactly review reviews, like we see here, but what each model is, what they look like, pros/cons between them, and the different styles that they come in. Pictures of these kinds of reviews were near invaluable to me when I started.

Then I was going to add a How To section, compiling a good amount of how to do this and how to do that sorta things that we're always getting questions about. How to refill carts, ect. What other how tos should I put up? I honestly don't really remember what I was looking for when I started (lol).

Then Juice! I really want this to be a big section of my site. I want to include everything I possibly can about juice, including DIY guides, and recipes (So if you want to donate a recipe to my site (with credit give, o'course) I'd be very appreciative. (I'll be doing alot of my own research on what to include in the Juice section, but if there is anything specific you'd like to see on a site about juice, let me know).

Lastly, I will be offering to post links to anyone's shops, if they'd like some FREE advertisement, as well as to link back here, and to anyone else's site they'd like.

Any feedback is appreciated. As soon as I get the webspace locked down I'll post some prototypes of the site :)
