I think at first we play with the meter to see were were at. Now it's almost always set at one place but if things don't taste just right I'll give a half turn up or down.
The best voltage is something you sense with your mouth and throat, not see with your eyes—and it's quite easy to adjust the pot in small increments until you've got it.

With the pricing on the previous PVs that Buzz has put out Im doubting that it is going to be insanely priced.I haven't seen any mention about retrofitting a Buzz, but I've looked down into the tube of mine to see the carefully positioned, tightly-packed electronics inside. I have serious doubts that what you're asking would be practical (i.e., cost-effective) vis-a-vis buying a new Buzz
