Hello.

Newbie here. About 45 days off of analogs.

Have a question before making a major purchase soon.

I am happy with what I am using now but getting an itch to upgrade. Still haven't found a goto juice, just trying this and that.

I am thinking about the following purchase to upgrade.

PROVAPES
1x Black Provari with end cap (for 18650)(probably get two)

ORBTRONIC ONLINE
6x Orbtronic High Drain 2900mah battery NCR18650PD (need advice especially on this one)

AMAZON
2x Nitecore i4 Chargers (4 slots) (one for office and one for home)
1x Nitecore i2 Charger (2 slots) (for traveling)

KANGER
2x Kanger Protank (when available)
30x Kanger Atomizers for the Protank (5 pack) (when available)

Are these products compatible. I tried reading about the batteries in this forum but confusing. Some people seem to be using the Nitecore chargers just fine.

I know the protank atomizers was just released but does anybody know the life of 1 atomizer? Maybe you can compare with the evod (which I have never used). It seems I am getting about two to three days with the cartomizer I am using currently (tank with 45mm dual coil flanged 2 ohm cartomizer).

At this rate I don't think I will save any money from not buying analogs. lol. Analogs cost about 2.75$ here for most brands. 2.50$ at the duty free shops, so that is not so expensive (until I return home to Los Angeles (i think about 6 to 7$ a pack). But the health benefits outweigh everything else, except the second hand smoke I get now (everybody I work with or meet for work chain smokes analogs all day - in the car, in the office,in meetings, in restaurants, coffee shops, etc. - even some taxis let you smoke). It is banned but nobody seems to care. A smoker's heaven.

Trying not to make this a hobby (but getting a little obsessed with this, lol) but just something to replace the long years of analogs. I didn't really think of getting a Provari (and quite satisfied with my setup now which consists of; 6x V4L 1300mah DAV with V4L Dual coil Cartomizers in Ibtanked Pyrex glass tanks) but would like to have the highest quality vaping experience with the least amount of hassle.

Open to other suggestions. Not into RBA's (and hopefully will not, lol).

Thanks.

Good choices on the Provari and battery extension cap.

Six batteries might be overkill, but the experienced vapor always has backups for his backups, so I can't fault you on this. One 18650 lasts me an entire day of vaping (6am to 10pm).

Three chargers also seems to be overkill, but again backups for your backups is always prudent.

I do wonder why you are choosing Orbtronic batteries, when Provape clearly recommends using only AW brand batteries ProVari Variable Voltage Ecig: Best Variable Voltage E Cig Available! .

Should you decide to order the Orbtronic batteries regardless, make sure you order the button top variety; the Provari is very sensitive to using the correct battery top. I use the AW imr batteries purchased from RTD Vapor. Good prices on batteries and chargers, and a great selection of drip tips.

I'd also recommend that you buy some Noaloxx from either Provape or your local hardware store.

noalox-2T.jpgNoalox Thread Lubricant

This will keep your bare metal threads on the battery endcaps "buttery smooth" and prevents oxidation from occuring which can disrupt the battery conduction and cause the Provari to fail to fire. I apply some on a monthly basis or sooner if the threads appear dark and gritty.

Before sinking a lot of money into the Kanger Protanks, I would take a jog down to the tank subforum and see what current owners have to say about them. I've been seeing a LOT of mixed reviews there.

My favorite juice delivery devices are pyrex cartotanks. IBTanked - Get Tanked With Us! Perhaps look into trying one; I find that they give superior flavor production compared to any string wicked delivery device.

I also recommend getting some type of carrying case, such as an Ego case. I use the one from Smokeless Image because its webbed pockets open in the same direction when the case is opened so articles do not fall out, as happens with other eGo cases. Smokeless Image | The Best Electronic Cigarette This is handy to carry your Provari, and spare batteries, juice delivery devices, extra drip tips, juice bottles, etc.

EDIT: Just checked back. I re-read your post and now see you already have IBTanks. :thumb:

Getting a Provari is not even close to having a hobby. When you have to look for several days weeks to find something in stalk that you don't have then you have a hobby;-) BA is always spot on. Have you checked out RTD vapor great place for batteries and chargers. Im not familiar with the batteries you mentioned but I use Panasonic CGR 18650CH along with AWs in mine and they work just fine.
I have a couple of PRO tanks coming threw a coop Ive seen mixed reports about gurgling and leaking seams like most mass produced stuff luck of the draw if you get a good one or not.
But everyone says they are easy to rebuild so they can be fixed. You can always find carts so a carto tank is a good thing to have.

If you decide to go the carto/tank route. (which is what I use). I highly suggest checking out Baditudes profile for blogs and info on carto/tanks. He is the one that taught me how to get the best use from them.

I have no affilation or profit by supporting a fabulous member of this forum. I just like and enjoy giving credit where credit is due.
Buying carto/tanks may cause lose of profit. Buying new toys may cause lack of credit on credit cards.
But darn it is fun to do it.

Well, nothing to add here, but it's a bad idea to say you will never do RBA's. I said that. I finally got mine working a couple of days ago, though it's not for my Provari. Somehow, hanging around here makes you buy this stuff. :p

I would consider a silver Provari if you are even a little hard on your stuff. I have seen too many posts of the finish on the Provari not being up to snuff. If you must have a color, consider a wrap.

I wouldn't rule out a Mini. I have the standard size, and am considering getting a Mini.

I usually use an 18490 in my Provari when I go to work. The battery usually dies soon after I get home from an 8 hour shift. My job consists of working for 1 hour and a 20 minute vape break throughout the night. I would definitely buy a couple of them.

I a currently using Protanks with my Provari. I have been happy with both of them. Both of mine work fine and are consistent from one to another. Have read where others have not had the same experience I have had with them. I don't know if they are better than a carto as I was never smart enough to get one to work correctly. Maybe one day I will give them another try.

Hope this helps and happy vaping!

Galen

Thank you for your detailed and informative replies.

I guess the consensus is to get the Provapes' batteries and probably the charger as well (pila).

I have IBtanked tanks so keep up with that and use on the provari. Will probably order the Kanger Protank anyhow soon.

Maybe think about the mini as well.

Will think it through and make a purchase. I have 7 v4l batteries now (4 new and 3 that are about 1 1/2 months of daily use - one defective - replacement on the way). I do realize that v4l is a little expensive but I am completely happy with their service and products. My first setup (except the knockoff joyetech egos from which I started) that actually gives me somewhat a smoking experience with only a little hassle.

Getting juices that I really enjoy is another matter but I guess I have to keep vaping away until I do.

Thanks again.
