I am waiting on my first vaping system ever which is the Triton Tank System. I purchased it late Friday evening. I think it should be here anywhere from tomorrow till Wednesday. I think that it is has a unique design that is very eye catching to a user of tobacco or vapor that hasn't seen it. I myself have never seen the system in person only in pictures online. I plan to drop the tobacco as soon as my system touches my hands. Judging from what I read I do believe that Halo is a great company and I have faith in them plus their products.

I have no plan of modding in anyway, shape, or form and mods in my opinion are pointless. I am now going to try and keep a open mind about them. They can be dangerous from what I hear they can do major to minor damage to your system and run the risk of exploding. I would like to hear more about the pros and cons of modding. so I can warn and inform people on other forum sites and people that I help switch to vaping. So that they do not harm themselves or their systems.

Although I am more worry about information on the experiences with vaping. I am already a member of the CASAA which are is a fighting for the rights of vapors in the USA. If anyone is not a member I suggest you join. They will keep you updated on the laws and regulations of vaping product in your area.

I have already read the manual(got it in a pdf file off of Halo site). It really did not give me all the information I wanted about the system like cleaning, on the go storage, what kind of coils I should use with what kinds of E-juice etc.

Information on where and how to store me E-juice is a big question of mine. I have 8 month old son who is growing and developing very fast.:(:( The main reason I am making the switch is so he does not pick up the nasty bad habit as he grows. I know I can't stop him from it but I can try to prevent it in anyway.

I am very much a newbie to vaping like I stated before the Triton will be my first vaping system ever and I am looking forward to hopefully filling healthier and being able to do thing with my son as he grows. My system will be here soon and the faster that you can get me the information requested the better.

Thanks to all of you that read all of this and tries to answer/help me in my quest for information

Glad you are going to try to make the switch to vaping. It will be one of the best things you ever do for yourself and your son.

As to mods being dangerous, they are dangerous the same way fireworks, guns, cars, alcohol and a million of other things are dangerous. If you use them responsibly and only after learning the ins and outs of them, you will be fine.

Way to go on quitting the cigs and starting to vape instead!! :toast: I hope it's as rewarding for you as it has been for me.... i'm at about a month now and it was a smooth - and delicious!! - transition.

i can't help on the Triton or mods, but storing your juice away from kid access is an easy one.... a high shelf inside say, a kitchen cabinet or closet, or inside a file cabinet - someplace dark and cool is where they should be stored anyhow. As you get into this you'll learn about 'steeping' juice, which means letting it sit for a while - days or weeks - while the flavors mature and blend. Not all juices require it, (it's less necessary for fruits, more for dark juice like coffees and chocolates) - but some do, especially ones with complex mixed flavors. Sometimes when you first get them they might have a slightly 'perfumey' aroma; letting them sit & steep for a while lets that evaporate; the flavors get richer, and the real flavor really comes out. - and a cool dark place is what's best for that process. So anyplace you have that's behind a door or inside a drawer, should be fine.

Have fun and vape on! :D :vapor:

You seem so anti mod. The one thing that bugged me is your persuasion in eluding others from them.

I'm going to only assume you drive. Or, even, take a bus or are obviously a passenger of sorts. You know full well outside of a war zone nothing is deadlier than the open road yet... Do you join car forums and coarse others into not driving?

This is obviously forgiving the fact you're a smoker which we all know is dangerous, more so inherently than a mod.

Do not buy into scare tactics. As others have said, you must learn about them. If you try to run without first knowing how to walk, you may break your legs. The same can be said about using a mod, though it is your face you'd be worried about.

I suggest you familiarize yourself with the various available batteries, reputable vendors, well made chargers and understand what you're working with before lambasting those who DO practice the discipline.

In any event congrats on making the switch. Wish you all the best

Huzzah for new vapers. Congrats on your switch (soon!).

And to reference what is going to be a point of contention in this thread, the mod point.

What exactly did you mean when you said 'mod'? Do you mean, a homemade vaping device? A mechanical device? A regulated device? Everything that takes an external battery?

Regardless, I bet you'd be interested to know, in my time spent vaping I've heard about a significant amount of people who's eGo batteries (that's the type you got) have exploded from over-charging, and none (except in strange home-brew experiments and flashlight warning stories) from people who use mods. Many scares with batteries overheating, shorting, and venting, yes, but the only explosions, eGo batteries.

No offense but i really don't think you should be giving out information about the dangers of modding when you don't have any experience doing it.

Welcome to ECF, and good luck on your journey to a healthier life.

Here's an excellent intro to battery safety:
http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/batteries-chargers/546143-batteries-chargers-multi-meters-forum.html#post12698746

And, here's a good introduction to vaping in general:
Proper terminology - Is it a carto, a tank, or what? A Guide to Juice Attachments

So far as your 8 month old, remember they put everything in their mouths. A childproof cap does no good if the whole bottle is chewed on. Keep everything out of their reach or under lock and key.

"Modding" was what people did years ago (some people still do).
they would take something like a flashlight for example and figure out how to hook up an e-cig atomizer to it.
if your not well versed in Electrical Engineering, things can go very wrong.

but in this day and age.. as long as you buy your "mod" and batteries from reputable manufactures and fallow all the directions and precautions, the odds of having a "safety" problem are slim to none.
these companies have millions of dollars to throw down on R&D and hire some of the best engineers they can find.
say you wanted a Box Mod and you picked the "Itaste MVP 2.0". the MVP would be just as safe has the Halo Triton.
its important that you fallow all the safety precautions when using any e-cig.
for example. use the correct charging cable or dock for the batteries, and do not leave the battery unattended well charging.

Congrats on being a soon to be vapor and making the switch. I would like to know more about what you consider modding and/or mods? Are you referring to modifying a flashlight or other object to make it into a vaping device? This is where the term "Mod" comes from. Before there where tons of mass produced units readily available to purchase for vaping, this is how most ppl went about vaping. I highly recommend doing some research before giving any advice on vaping. The only dangers in using a personal vaporizer is the lack of knowledge obtained by the operator, like most simple things in this world, even a toaster is dangerous if you don't know how to use it ;)

If you who think I am being closed mind about mods I did little to no research on them and STATED in the post that I hear they can do those to your system. So if you want to help me with this tell me your experience with mods. I am just really looking for information and experiences on vaping all together.

I am not a close minded person I tend to be more open minded than I should sometimes. And being so opened mind is what start my past drug use and what makes me a recovering drug-addict now which is always going to a battle. I stated my opinion on mods and that I have no PLAN on modding. I do not plan on modding due to lack of money and research because I a family to take care of. That might change in the future with the opinions/experiences of other users or the right amount of time and money.

I had no idea of how many types of mods there was out there. I am just looking to get the most out of my first time vaping. To all who help I am more than happy to read as much as your can type. If anyone has a website that has good amount of information on mods post a link.

I would love to hear stories on how well the vaping helped. I am looking forward to more positive post and advice on how to get the best vaping experiences for my first time. If you cannot help me than please do not post on my thread about how I should post. Remember I am very very new to this. Thanks to all of you that posted something positive and tried to help. I can't wait till my tank system gets here and I am look forward to ever use of it.

People are just a bit touchy when anyone talks about stuff they *heard* about vaping. There's lots of lies out there from sensationalist journalism and from those who want to make money on controlling vaping.

Just follow some basic rules, and you'll be fine. Use the correct charger. Take your battery off the charger as soon as it's finished. Don't charge unattended. And, stop using/charging if your battery gets too warm. Otherwise, just keep away from children.

That's about it for starting out with the kit you've chosen. Of course, you'll need to learn more before you move up to something bigger. But, that can wait. Just read the links I gave you first.

For success stories, look here: E-Cigarette Success Stories

Of course, there are success stories all through-out these forums. Almost every member here has a success story to tell.

Good luck with your new life and with the new baby!

as im sure you understand, chemical dependence is one of the hardest things a human being can go through.
smoking is ritualistic, some part of what your addicted to is your smoking habits. driving in the car, fire up a smoke. after you eat, you fire up a smoke. we have these rituals in our lives that we have done for years. and hitting your vape after breakfast will not feel the same.
some people can just pick up the e-cig, use it like they would normal cigarettes and toss the smokes and ever go back. for my self and a lot of other people its just not that easy.
the e-cig will help with the chemical dependence by delivering the user some nicotine. but the psychological dependence can be tough.
it took me 3 months of vaping and smoking before i gave up the cigarettes. one of the things that helped me was making up new vaping rituals. i use certain flavors in the morning, after noon, and night time. also staying out of mini-marts for a month will really help it just feels weird when your trying to quit smoking, to walk into a mini-mart without Cigarettes and leave without Cigarettes.
another one of my rituals is every day when i wake up, i get out of bed and say "hot damn its good to be alive" and take a big vape.
the first couple days you will feel weird about the new rituals but over time they become second nature.

Chain smoking is much less ritualistic and more about the buzz. i have seen chain smokers pick up vaping rather well and others not so much. they will just vape for a few hours solid on like 12 MG e-liquid and be satisfied or not. there are a lot of added chemicals that potentiate the effects of nicotine in cigarettes and are not found in e-liquid. this may be part of the reason why some smokers have such a hard time making the switch.

the big thing, is not to give up. i was not one of the people that could forget about cigarettes after i got my vape gear. but today i can walk into a mini-mart look at the packs of smokes and not even feel any urge to buy them. i enjoy looking at the packs now, its gives me a feeling of satisfaction to know that i over came that addiction.

Ideally sitting down and being able to explain and discuss everything would be better but there is just way to much info. I know when I first started I probably read non stop for a month straight. This forum has everything you could ever want to know but finding a certain topic can be tricky. This should be a good starting point. New Members Information

I struggle everyday with urges of many kind that I stopped using ALONG time ago. I will not go into them any farther here but I fight them for my family. I will say that I am almost thirty day with .......... I am very proud of that would not suggest anyone to use it in anyway except if the person has a legit medical prescription and issue. ONLY UNDER DOCTORS ORDERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That being said I am switching because of my family. My wife is a smoker and we are looking for a vape system for her. She likes the look of the tank system but is worried about it being too wide and long for a little hands. She does not like the style like the blu or anything else that. I think she likes the idea of refilling the tanks and being able to see the Juice. Refilling the tanks is a another reason of me buy a tank system because we have use nothing but Zippo lighters for the past year now and find great pleasure in refilling them and so does she. Any suggestion for us to look at would be greatly appreciated.

I love reading on these forums and really don't want to go to anything that is in anyway close to a book. My ADD will not allow my to.
I tend to jump from one post to other. I have only found to forum site and am registered to both this one and another by the name of epicecigreviews forum. They have a tab on their homepage for it. If anyone could point me to a few other it would really help me get the most information I can get.

I suffer from Bipolar, Insomnia, Mild Depression, really bad nerves, ( can not spell it the way it is put on paper) and ADD. I was wondering if the switching process is going to increase, decrease, or have any at all effect to these problems?

I do not want to go to a medical professional or Dr. for I fear they will not give me info on it or tell me something it is going mess with the medicines I am taking. For they only have one thing in mind most of the time and that Money. As much most of them they say they don't want you smoke it is all an act for they want u as sick as possible so that you keep coming back and they keeping your money. At least that is the case in my area 75-95% of the time.

My other questions in the post are always open. I would like to get as much info as possible.Thank you to those who have showed support and given me information on question.

P.S. Any recovering or addict need someone to talk to or find themselves worryed about symptoms of withdraw they are having. Fill free to e-mail me and I will try to help as much as I can I know it is a hard thing to go through but worth it all in the end for a better healthier you.

When your Triton comes in, let your wife take a look at it, handle it, and see what she thinks then. I have not used the Triton, so I am not sure of the sizing on it. My daughter and I recently got Kanger Evod kits, and really like them. They are wider than the cigalikes that we were using, but very much usable and comfortable in a woman's hands, and very easy to set up and use. The heads (coils) are easily replaced, not too terribly expensive, and can be cleaned to prolong life.

I would also suggest getting a couple of glass tanks, like the Protank 2 Mini. Certain eliquids (such as citrus, cinnamon) are known as "tank crackers" and can ruin polycarbonate tanks. Some eliquid sites, such as Mt. Baker Vapor, advise which of their flavors are "tank crackers". There is also a list here on ECF.

Keep reading and asking questions. Up at the top of the ECF page, there is a tab labelled "Reviews". You can look there for member reviews of equipment and eliquids. If there is anything you are not sure of, please ask. We are here to help each other.

Kids are fast, and they are smart. If they want to, they WILL find a way to get at "forbidden treasures".
Absolutely true - but his kid is only 8 months old ... and if kids don't know that something even exists, there's nothing 'forbidden' about it - as they have no knowledge of it at all. Since his son is not yet even a year old, i don't know that a locking cabinet is an absolute necessity quite yet.

Some tips on the Triton system. Halo is a top notch company, so you made a good choice.

1. The Triton battery is 808/ego threaded. Most of the industry is 510/ego or just 510 threaded. This will limit what other things you can use. You can successfully use the Triton tank forever...my wife has been using it for nearly 2 years. If you want to try other stuff that fits the Triton battery, check out Smokeless Image, which also uses 808/ego threading.

2. The Triton tank is a Kanger T2 with slightly different threading. A Kanger T2 will work on a Triton battery but leave a slight gap. Any Kanger T2 replacement head works on the Triton tank. I say this because the T2 and replacement heads are cheaper elsewhere. Try vapingme.com. The Kanger T2 is the only device I have ever found that will work on 808/ego and 510/ego batteries. The Triton tank, however, does not fit on a 510/ego battery.
