Just my opinion, but why pay so much for the best PV out there and then cheapskate on the batteries? The AW IMR are the best and they are the recommended option. They work the best in the 'Vari, and of course no worries about voiding your warranty by using JunkFire ebay batteries. End of story really.

I second that. Junkfire batteries may give more mah a pop, but there's no getting past the AW IMR's higher amp punch to give the boost circuit in the Provari enough juice to get the job done.

Well the reason I ask is for mah, not trying to "cheapskate" on batteries. Didn't realize that AW IMR is the brand and part, THANKS

Junkfires are not cheapskate batteries. I'm sure they've got their use, just not on a Provari. After all, would you put tyres that fit a sub-compact car onto a corvette? Maybe this is oversimplifying things, but that's the reality of it. AW IMRs are recommended by Provape for good reasons, why don't you just stick with it. They don't really cost that much more. You're already paying more than a hundred dollars, what's a few bucks more?

AW is the brand. IMR is the type of battery. AW also has protected lithium ion batteries, which are not the same as the IMRs. The AW IMR 18650 will fit the Provari with the 18650 cap, while the AW IMR 18490/18500 will fit it with the standard cap. Provape recommends that you use these IMR batteries, and I have had no issues using them. 2 of these IMR 18650s should last even the heaviest vaper a whole day or more. A mild vaper that goes through only about 2ml of juice a day may find that the 18650 will last a good few days.

IMR batteries have a high C rating (discharge rate) and can sustain higher currents, and therefore higher power, your current requirement is determined by the atomiser resistance and the voltage you select.

So other 18650 batteries MIGHT work for you, depending upon your atomiser and voltage choices.

However I would strongly recommend IMR batteries, or at least selecting batteries on their C rating over their mAh rating.

My mistake, you asked for "other" batteries so I assumed you already knew the recommended battery for the Provari as stated on the Provape site. I was attempting to be helpful, but if that offends anyone that was not my intention. It matters nothing to me what anyone else uses.

Hey guys, first time in the Provape forum. I'm thinking a Provari is in my future, and I have a related question. Does the lame trustfire charger I already have work with the reccommended batteries? I don't particularly want to junk up my vaping man purse any more than I have to already :)

hehehe..Yes, the trustfire dual bay charger will work ok with the AW batts. Both sizes.
