Questions (Provari Mini + Aspire Nautilus)

Hi,

I switched from smoking to vaping 6 weeks ago (after 24 years of 15-20 cigs/day - age 11 to 35). I've been using a V3 eGo Spinner kit at 4.8V w/ 18mg tobacco-flavored e-liquid. The hit is ok but really not as strong as I'd like. And I really push the poor thing to its limits. Mid-section gets hot to the point where it stops. Some kind of safe-guard I think.

Anyway, I managed to stay away from cigarettes so far, but I decided to aim for the major leagues in order to stay sober. After extensive research, I settled on a Provari Mini w/ an Aspire Nautilus atomizer. I should receive the whole kit within the next couple of weeks (mod, atomizer, ring, extension cap, 18490 batteries, multicharger, cleaning kit).

I have a few questions...

Is the glass tank fragile? I want to carry the whole thing (mod w/ tank) in a pocket (if need be) without worrying about the atomizer breaking. Your opinion on the available stainless steel replacement tanks?

I want to order a 5-pack of replacement coils, but can't figure out wich one would be the right fit for me (1.6 or 1.8 ohm), considering I need a stronger hit than the maximum I get with the eGo at 4.8V. Help? I don't want to be stuck with busted coils and no replacement. Also, how often should I expect to have to replace those?

Finally, how should I proceed when I get the beast, in order to get the perfect throat hit for me?

Thank you for your help.

1st question - yes the glass is fragile.

2nd question - get stainless steel replacement tank.

3rd question - I would go with the 1.8

4th question - throat hit depends on how much PG & your nic strength. Pathetic lower the nic, less throat hit, also the higher the VG, the less throat hit.

Good luck & VAPE ON:vapor:

Replacement on the atomizers vary. The darker & thicker your juice is, you will go thru atomizers pretty quick.

Thank you.

Maybe the problem with my actual set-up is not as much the hit as it is the amount/density of vapor I get. So maybe my last question should be more about how I should proceed to get the more intense vapor from the Provari w/ Nautilus?

And what about drip tips? Not sure I'm sold on the standard curvy shape like the one on the V3 eGo Spinner. Seems like the top is meant to go inside the lips, and I really don't fancy putting stuff directly from my pocket or bag and into my mouth... Muffler shape tips are intriguing (#7 in attached picture). The cigarette-like too (#5). What's your favorite and why?

Are all tips compatible or should I look for models made specifically for the Nautilus?

The Aspire Nautilis has variable air control to adjust your vapor production. Just experiment with it. There's plenty of YouTube Videos on this device to show how to use it.

The drip tip/ mouth piece is personal preference of the user. Again, just experiement with different ones to see which one YOU prefer. There are different shapes, lengths, and material. Plastic, metal, pyrex glass, tru-stone, carbon fiber, wood, etc.

It's all trial and error. Start with your voltage at the lowest level and adjust upward until you find a voltage that you like. The voltage you like will vary depending on your eliquid flavor (for flavor intensity), your nicotine level (for throat hit) and your PG/VG level (for vapor density).

Can't help you here. I haven't purchased many drip tips. I think it all comes down to personal preference as far as look and feel in your mouth.

Any drip tip that is 510 compatible will fit your Nautilus. The 510 connection is an industry standard. I can't even remember seeing a drip tip that was not 510 compatible.
