Is it worth getting? I would be upgrading from a 1000mah twist. I'm not completely sure I understand how the larger PV make for a better vaping experience. Does it create more vapor? Is it better tasting? I understand more battery life but am I missing something?

I am probably ok with the amp limit switch as I never hit the 4.8 max of my twist. I can grab it locally brand new for $90.

I also plan on picking up the CVI but just curious if the Evic is a decent upgrade or not as I will grab it tomorrow if it is.

Cwinnes, I upgraded to an Evic from a Ego-c 1000mah pass-thru and it's a bit of Heaven & Hell. If I use my 3.5ml DCT Cart with 1.5ohm Dual Punched Carts, the flavors are a Really noticable difference and produces more vapor then my ego, as I have the voltage and wattage higher than what my Ego-c would do.

If I use my 6ml DCT Tank with the same 1.5 Cart it's lacking, for some reason I cannot dial in the appropriate settings to try and match the excellent performance of my 3.5ml tank.....it's odd....but I have tried & tried, but have burned a lot of oil trying to match my small tank.

I also bought a Vision Vivi Nova 4ml to see if was going to be any better than my 6ml DCT Tank, it works well for a day, but quickly falls off. The vapor of the Vivi tank is unmatched, but it gets so much residual oil buildup that I have to clean it 3-4 times a day and have gone thru 3 heads in 3 days, so not really working for me.

I wanted to use the bigger tanks to match the diameter of the evic tube, but the bigger tanks seem to be evil, so I have conceeded and gone back to my 3.5ml DCT tank, which works really well, just looks small on top of the evic head.

Regardless of my tank fight, the evic was a great upgrade for me, as I needed better battery life. When I first got her I played around with the fancy electronic stuff, but that seems to have tapered off, but it's nice to be able to control the Voltage & Wattage from the screen. My charge seems to last about 48 hours before I drop it on the charger.

Hope this helps!

The eVic is a great upgrade from the ego-Twist (as with any variable voltage device below 5v), but only if you want to use multiple tanks/atomizers on your device.

If you current get a good vape with your Twist setup, then I would stick with it. The eVic's 5v limit means that you can't get a much hotter hit with more throat hit and vapor than you could with the max 4.8v Twist under normal conditions.

The eVic would then come down to battery cycles and the 1.1 firmware wattage settings. Also, aesthetics may come into play.

I like the eVic. I have 2 and I use one with the standard 18650, and the other with the control head and a 18350 Joyetech ego-T Upgrade 18350 tube. So, I have a shorty/stealth and the standard.

I have noticed that the eVic seems to last longer than my other mods between recharges, especially with the pink battery that comes with it.

Another good option for an upgrade from the ego-Twist would be the Sigelei Zmax. You get 6v and the option for 15 watts. It performs just as well as, if not better than, my eVics.

The main difference with the larger style "mods" is that they use standardized rechargeable batteries like the 18650 that are easily replaceable and will last a REALLY long time. The 1000mAH Twist is fantastic on battery life, but most 18650's will last more than twice as long. The other, probably even more important, difference is the eVic's ability to give you "Variable Wattage"--the Twist allows you to change the voltage from 3.2V up to 4.8V , but different atomizers at different resistances will respond differently to the various voltages: For example, a 1.8ohm clearomizer might not work very well at anything above about 4.2V for 9.8 Watts, but a 3ohm atomizer at 4.8V is only 7.68 Watts. In "Variable Wattage" mode, it will automatically detect the resistance of whatever atomizer you use and adjust the voltage accordingly. This means that you'll get more consistent performance and added safety.

The big advantage to going with a bigger PV is battery life, really... more time between charges.

Variable; wattage may be a cool feature for you, too, and it may not. A lot of people love it... I don't really care about it one way or the other. It doesn't really give me anything variable voltage didn't give me already.

Got it! Was really easy to update to 1.1 and I am enjoying it so far.

Sounds good. The innovation with the evic is being able to download updates. The evic and the Janty mid are the first pvs to have this capability, so changes can be added without having to buy another pv to get the update.
Hope you enjoy the variable wattage too. I find vw pvs great to use. The CVI you mentioned getting has it too, and I'm looking at getting one of those myself.

Just a tip on the evic - apparently the Joye ego mod tubes can be used with the control head - so you can mix up the colors you want.
Here's pics of those from a UK site just to show you:
Joye eGo 18650 MOD Tube - Cloud 9 Vaping

US vendors sell them too.

My husband and I both upgraded from twists to the evic a few weeks ago and love them. Like others have said I think that it is mostly due to the battery charge length more than anything. To be 100% honest I do not understand variable wattage though.. for some reason not matter how many things or how much I read about it my brain just will not understand it.. LOL. If someone could just tell my what watt to set my carto on that would be great! Like for instance when I screw on my DCT 3.5ml tank with a 1.5 dual coil carto it tells me that the recommended wattage is 5.2 but there is no way that i can get a decent hit off of it at that setting... so as of now I just use the variable voltage setting. I LOVE the fact that it shows me how much battery life I have remaining because even though the twist had a pretty decent battery life I always felt the urge to charge it because I was afraid that it was going to die on me. Also I know that not many people care about the puff counter but it is neat information for me to see.. I'm sure with time that interest will fade though and be unimportant to me. I wish that you could get the evics in a different color than plain silver, I will likely buy a mod replacement tube so that I can have something more girly.

GL mate. I have done the same evolution as you are doing. Borrowed my friends simple battery to get hooked. Bought a twist for myself and needed a backup because I had to give my friends spare back. So instead of getting a 2nd twist I got the evic. The possibility to upgrade the evic through firmware has already been an asset to this device and I hope will do even more with it in the future rather than having to buy another unit. It also give you a bit more tech-ie stuff to fiddle with and pinpoint tastes than the twist can. I am a happy customer of my purchases and I think you too will enjoy your new Evic.

Yea I had to spend a bit of research to get it all panned out myself. The vapechart works wonders before you fully understand the whole picture. If I were you and your Evic detects 1.5 Ohm, start with 3.4v or switch to Watts at 8.0 watts and dial up or down 0.2 to get what flavor and punch that suits you.

It may be reading the carto as a single 1.5 ohm coil, instead of a dual. You should be able to just click the watts up to where it tastes ok.
