As a former smoker, been smoke free for 3 months, I am used to not smoking in restaurants and at the work place(although my boss doesn't care that I vape indoors). I understand where you are coming from but some of these juices stink. I do my dripping at home and take something a little tamer out in public with me to keep the complaints down, although I don't get many other than the old people telling me it's going to blow up in my face. So why all the fuss about vaping in public?

Reminds me of something that happened to me...and this is a true story....

I am a baker, and I got pulled into the office. It seems one of our new co-workers had complained about me. She said I was "passing gas and making her smell it". Now, keep in mind, I am a 45 year old, not a 5 year old. When everyone is an adult, and something like this comes up, It just shocked me. I think I've only worked with her twice in the last two months, and needless to say, I do NOT make anyone smell me. Yes, the manager counceled me and told me not to pass gas in the bakery......

Now, I may have passed gas... I am only human, and it does happen. It's not illegal to do it either. But, she may have passed by after I let one. I don't make any fuss, about it, and I don't try to do it... but..... well, what would you do in that position.

My end thoughts on the subject is...different people have different olfactory senses. For some, a particular smell might be offensive. I don't vape in closed spaces not because of it being dangerous, but just because people might be offended at the smell.. or even the thought of smelling something. Why cause controversy if it doesn't have to exist in the first place. I do stealth vape from time to time, and I've never had any complaints there.

I vape like I did when I smoked...I treat it as smoking when I'm out in public places. For one...I don't really know what the laws are on vaping in public places so I just don't. I figure that when I was a smoker I waited to smoke in allowed places and so I'm now trained from that to wait to vape. Also...I was a respectful smoker to those who didn't smoke, the same with vaping.

In NY you can't vape anywhere you can't smoke to my knowledge. I hate NY sometimes.. So I can't even try. However here in asia I vape in the malls and pretty much everywhere besides directly in closed areas. No one has ever said anything to me here. However in NY that's another story and people look at anything that even looks like smoke as dangerous. God.. did I say that I hate NY? I do sometimes

I'm lucky that the only people who have complained about the smell have been smokers. One was a coworker and the wind was blowing my vape right into his face and he politely asked me to move so no big deal there. The other was a girl the bar, and openly complained about my vaping while blowing smoke directly in my face. This I find funny because a lot of the smokers are curious, want to try me gear out. Others even go so far as to ask if its okay to smoke next to me (which I don't mind.)
