Hi, i just got a shipment of juice, 120mil. Its VG with 5% Ethyl Alcohol. I want to bring the ratio to 85VG/15 Vodka. How many Mil of vodka would i use to get an 85% VG since theres already 5% Alcohol in the mix? I stink at math and i know you all can solve this asap. If you could that would be great, i need to Steep this stuff 2 weeks min, so faster the better, its my first buy for tomarrow batch.

Thanks
Harry

Ok unless I miss my guess your looking to add 10% to 120ml. That should come out to be 12ml of vodka that you need to add.
I'm no math teacher either, so someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

That would make 86.4/13.6 which should make it thinner than straight PG before the thinning effects of flavorings are added.

5% PGA should make most viscus VG's the same viscosity as PG though, so I'm not sure what the OP intentions are.

I just want to thin it out a bit, i use Carto tanks with Boge 1 hole carto's and just want it just right for wicking at a decent rate. I dont chain vape so just a bit thinner than what came to me with 5% Alc is my question. I added 2 1/2 mil of Vodka to 30 Mil of juic after shaking for 5 minutes with agitator inside bottle (120mil). I then added 6mil ov vodka to the 90Mil left in the 120 bottle. To me it looks great. Is what i did correct for better viscosity? It will e steeping for 1 week without tops on and then 1 week with them on. First 7 days will be airated and shaken, last 7 days they will just sit up there in the dark.

Harry, I have no idea how to say this other than to say it...

I've been mixing my own juice for years and adjusting viscosity just as long and I have no idea what you are typing about.

If you don't chain vape, a thicker juice is better for vapor production and won't result in dry hits because you're allowing time for the thicker juice to wick. I chain vape and use a much thicker juice than you are going for, but I also don't use Boge cartos because I chain vape and they always give me dry hits pretty quick.

If you add alcohol and then leave it uncapped to let the alcohol evaporate out, why put it in in the first place?

You don't mention anything about flavoring which thins juice by itself so I'm assuming that you're vaping unflavored and even for unflavored 15% alcohol in the most viscus VG I've ever used is about a runny as water.

Add all that up and then throw in a requirement to do it to 120ml's on the first shot at it...well...it boggles my little brain.

I'll step out of this thread so you can get back to doing this thing.

ETA: The answer to the question is 12.75ml to make the 95/5 into 85/15. I can do the math, it's the rest I can't fathom.

Again you answered my question ty. I just wanted it to thin out a bit Its TOO THICK. All i wanted to do is thin the whole batch out. I can not afford to keep changing types of tanks and all that. Fixed income, dissabled vet and i have what i have. Im trying to get another tank but wont be able to for a couple weeks at the soonest. I hope that explains what im talking about or trying to achieve. Its flavored Juice and the company recomends atleast a 2week Steep. I wish i coud make my own, but i can only afford one thing at a time and rewicking Vivi nova heads is as far as ive gone on the DIY stuff so far and TBH, my wicks and heads last twice as long as a standard Vivi at 2.3Ohms

Thats my DIY background, some day son i want to DIY my juices until then im stuck getting what i can as cheap as i can and making it work for me. Thanks for all the input.

In my opinion that's way too much vodka, which is an irritant and will take your throat out after several hours of vaping. I'd suggest using filtered water instead of the vodka. Water, in small amounts, doesn't change flavor or vapor production much at all.

I'd suggest measuring off 1 ml of your liquid and add two drops of filtered water. See how that works for you and if it's fine then mix about .8 ml of water to each 10 ml of juice. Do make sure you like it though before committing the whole batch.

Edit. I reread your post and looks like you've already mixed it, so hopefully it'll work out for you. :vapor:

Reason i used Vodka was because that is what the vendor suggested if i wanted to thin it out. Its thick when it gets here, it will not squeeze out of a standard 60kil bottle, that how thick it is. I used the vodka, gonna leave the tops off and let the alcahol evaporate off and whats left is just watter as far as i know. I will use water next time. Only reason i needed to do it asap was i sometimes cant buy for the future, i have only enough funds to buy and hope the juice is vapable when it gets here. A friend gave me some of his(30mil Same stuff same vendor) to get me by while this sets. Awesome smelling and looks fantastic so far. The drip tips i put in the bottles work wonders if you dont have a sonic cleaner to steep your juice. About 1 minute of shaking and its full of tiny bubbles and thats about all i do.

As stated thanks for all the input, at least i know that water is my best bet next time, that and ratios lol.
